Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have now revealed that Thanos would've beat the Hulk even if he didn't have the Infinity Gauntlet with the Power Stone, fueling more debate. The opening scene takes place on the Asgardian refugee ship after Thanos and his Black Order have taken it over to locate the Tesseract. In a last ditch effort to defeat Thanos, Loki sends the Hulk into a rage to fight. However, the fight doesn't go in the Hulk's favor.
Stephen McFeely believes that the Mad Titan would've destroyed the Hulk with his own bare hands in Infinity War. This would explain why Ebony Maw allows the fight to continue and makes the scene look like Thanos was just having some fun, like a cat playing with a mouse. Looking back at the scene, Maw and Thanos are pretty calm, even when it appears that the Hulk has the upper hand in the battle. McFeely had this to say when asked if Thanos could still beat Hulk without help.
"I think he could. I may be speaking out of turn, but I think Thanos could kick the Hulk's *** without the (Power Stone)."
However, the opening Infinity War scene wasn't just to show that Thanos could beat the Hulk. Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus wanted to establish the fact that Thanos is the biggest villain in the entire MCU. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed early on that the first 5 minutes of Infinity War would show off the immense power of the Mad Titan and he was not kidding around. McFeely explains.
"We want to announce Thanos as the biggest villain in the MCU, so he takes out the previous reigning champion. And by defeating Hulk relatively easily and savagely, hopefully there's a sense of dread over the course of the rest of the movie for anyone else who comes up against him."
Hulk was super weak in Thor 3....Thor and Valkyrie totally owned him, and Tony owned him too in AOU, so Thanos beating him, not that impressive. They should have made Hulk a beast to really give Thanos the rub (wrestling term) so he could get over (wrestling term) as the most powerful."We want to announce Thanos as the biggest villain in the MCU, so he takes out the previous reigning champion.
Shut up Gar! Hulk was caught off guard, had a staph infection, couldn't handle the weight cut, sprained his ankle, was winning until he slipped.
You plebs just wait until Hulk has a full training camp!

Mark Ruffalo is goofy.
No, he became a cartoon.
So did Morrison though, that's the point. His arc is gonna be like any other rockstar, and he'll die in the bathtub (or his case at sea).
My Jack died when he was eaten by the Kraken.
There's pre Kraken Jack and post Kraken Jack.
Hulk has been too overpowered in the comics making him a bit boring for me. I'm mostly happy with how the Hulk has been portrayed in the MCU, he just needed to be shown as more of a threat to the public which is how I've always thought of the character.
The Hulk sucks and Mark Ruffalo is goofy.
Just look at JL which proves just how right you are.
Superman shows up during the climatic battle and easily takes out SW it was really boring in two very significant ways.
Boring to see Superman easily taking out SW.
Boring what it did to the rest of the JL who were now just standing around watching Superman while doing nothing themselves other than Cyborg with that dumb motherbox.
So boring in fact was his super strength that the writers then had to create another boring scenario for Superman to leave the battle and rescue a building that we never see civilians even inside he literally rescued just a building!
Then he returned to freeze SW axe so that WW could break it (I swear that Batman had more to do in Batman and Robin than he did in JL with him standing around shooting that silly parademon gun).
So yes Hulk being a threat to the public is good enough for me let Thanos kick his *** lol
Besides it was nice seeing Ruffalo being a hero himself.
You are 100% right.
