Just watched movie today. Marvels best movie to date, Very emotional with certain scenes in the movie. Really made me think at times, and I enjoyed the ending...

It's def one of my fave comicbook movies. It's a Great 1st half to a bigger story

I love how all of the Russos' films in the MCU have been major game-changers for the franchise.

  • CA: WS - Brought down SHIELD and changed the status quo for subsequent movies and TV shows.
  • CA: CW - Split the Avengers
  • A: IW - Dust... dust everywhere. :D
  • A4 - Will end an era of the MCU

Loved all of their movies in the MCU so far. All of them (bar A4 because it isn't released yet) are in my top 5. :D

I was suffering from Marvel fatigue, especially that egregious turd of a Spider Man movie (current Spider Man is the best actor they've ever had for the role....kid is perfect....as a supporting character. Homecoming sucked. Same with Dr Strange...he was so good in this and kinda "meh" in his own movie.)

Anyway....I finally watched it and yes, I loved it too. It really was just balls to the wall fun. Well except Wanda and Vision. zzzzzz.

But what was so fantastic was not having to waste even a minute on exposition and being able to jump right into the story and action with about 2 dozen or more well established, beloved characters. What a pay off to allllll that world building.

Dear lord I hope the ending is satisfying and that Captain Marvel has an extremely small, unimportant role. I hate her already.

Yeah, I thought most of the Earth stuff was boring. It still bothers me how this is when they decide to call Captain Marvel, and not any of the other world-destroying threats. I’m not a fan of Brie Larson but I won’t say anything more until we see her on-screen/in trailers.

I hope we see more of Thanos in his armor.

I think it's cool to see that scene with Immigrant Song though it absolutely does not work with the tone of that movie.

Also it was fun seeing it in Ragnarok but they should have only used it once in that. I've seen some reference it as "Thor's Theme"; I really don't want it to be permanently tied to Marvel's Thor. Led Zeppelin deserves so much better than that; it's a great song in it's own right.

Am i the only one ...

...foolish enough to think that Star Lord pistol whipping Thanos and basically foiling the effort to take the gauntlet is the only reason why Thanos wins? Else Iron man and team had him? And therefore Star Lord got what he deserved?

You're not the only one. I remember the actor receiving flak from fans just after the film started showing just because of that.

Star lord's emotional mistake wasn't the biggest. There was no guarantee of victory if he hadn't had his outburst (in fact, according to Strange, they would have failed anyway)

Thor's goof was way worse. He directly caused the death of half the universe

But Strange's whole dialogue means he set them on the course of ultimate victory, yes?

That's why Strange took the course of action that he did.

That is to say, there are some realities in which Thor is successful, but ultimately Thanos wins. But in the action that Strange took, means that ultimately the heroes will prevail. I don't think we can blame anything on Thor.

But at the same time, how was Thor to know that striking this demi-god with a god-killing weapon wouldn't be a fatal blow? I'd be more upset with Eitri for not telling Thor that it was a god-killer*

*does not actually kill gods

The Russos have stated that Thor intentionally did not deal a deathblow, so that he could rub it in the Titan's face. He could have killed him, but his ego wouldn't let him without Thanos knowing it was him who killed him. Thus, Thor could have ended it right there. Strange may have known the outcome of every timeline, all that shows is Thor in every timeline is an idiot.

Lol the CG when Banner unmasks in the hulkbuster is so bad.

Weird how Immigrant Song seems like ‘Thor’s Theme’ at this point.

Hated all the Earth stuff too and thought it really killed the pacing of the film. Everything else was fun though.

:lol :lol

Sounds about right.

Starlord prevented the gauntlet's removal. Why the others didn't just destroy him after that I don't know...

I played around adding pics and it worked- but now I can't remove them..lol...sorry about the Marty intrusion!

I like that second Thor pic.

Spindrift, you should be able to remove them by messing with the "manage attachments" option under advanced edit. I think.

I just saw this last night. I'm not sure what the general consensus is but I was floored by how darn epic this was. I can imagine people going crazy in theaters. :lol
