My guess is it's because of the Avengers.

So far in the MCU, there hasn't been a threat that hasn't been met effectively by the Avengers. There hasn't been any threat that was shown to be universally dangerous as far as Fury knows prior to the Chitauri invasion. The Avengers were able to effectively combat that.

At the end credits of IW, Fury and Hill were monitoring what was happening in Wakanda. So they knew there was a battle there. When people started turning to ash, Fury must have realized the Avengers have failed and therefore had to call the big gun.

I know nothing about Captain Marvel and what she can do but unless there is some horrible consequence to be paid whenever she uses her powers I don't see why it makes sense for her to stay out of any Avengers-tier conflict, particularly when they cut so close to ultimate defeat.

I would hope her solo film will set up the reason why she couldn't be called upon prior to this particular point.

With the way Bautista is going off on Disney, threatening to quit guardians 3 if they don't use Gunn's script, I wouldn't be surprised if Drax doesn't come back from Thanos' snap.

I'm seeing in youtube videos that he said it would be a ''disservice'' to James Gunn if he starred in GOTG3 without him?

A) overestimating his own standing as an actor
B) how is that supposed to make his GOTG co-stars feel? So Bautista thinks the rest of them would be stabbing James Gunn in the back by carrying on without him?

The rest of the cast has signed a petition to get Gunn rehired.... have to see how this plays out...

The whole thing is stupid if you ask me.. to many ***** social warriors out there making mountains out of mole hills.... He made some inappropriate jokes to get attention it backfire, he apologized for it 8-9 years ago, apologized again when it was brought up again recently (which was done for political reasons)…. Now if he actually molested or **** someone then It would be a different story but he didn't....

You make a mistake in life and there are people out there that want you to pay for it the rest of your life.... I would love to see the backgrounds of these "social warriors" odds are they probably have very shady backgrounds, the most self-righteous are usually the biggest sinners...

“Dude, you’re embarrassing me in front of the wizards.”
That one is going to work for a long time. A long time.

Of course, an aspect I like from this film is how some of the heroes meet from different films and band together against a common threat. However, what I like bout their cohesion is they are heroes, on the side of 'good', but there is tension between them; such as in A1 when the superheroes meet each other they seem wary about one another and even fight amongst themselves.

Also, not everybody has met everybody (for instance, Banner asks "There's a Spider-Man and an Ant-Man?"). We see different groups meet and fight together, but not EVERYBODY in the film comes together in one astounding group; this is something I'm hoping to see, everybody from this universe to come together and have an epic showdown.

Great point and yes they saved the entire group coming together for IW2 rightly so I might add.

My thought is that Gunn gave him his big break, and he feels he owes it to Gunn to stick up for him. Pratt, Saldana and the rest were already well-known. So they're not really in the same position as Bautista is.

That makes sense I suppose.

Another bit I LOLed at from this film - the Kevin Bacon joke. And Thor saying something like ''He may be on the team, I haven't been back in a while''

It's all political. Look up Mark Duplass, James Gunn, and Ben Shapiro. Gunn jumped in there so people started looking up things in his background. If he hadn't done that nobody would have been looking for dirt on him.

It is scary how much AOU was improved by IW.

The dialogue resonates much more now.

Example:

Bruce:

“Natasha where can I go, where in the world am I not a threat?”

Or Stark:

“Banner and I were doing research that would end the team!”

“I’m the man who killed the Avengers.”

“I watched my friends die you think that would be as bad as it gets, nope it wasn’t the worst part.”

Fury:

“Worst part is that you didn’t”

Damn even Ultron’s extinction plan had a primary attachment to the stones and here was Thanos doing just that!

Ultron says” “God throws a stone at it and believe me he’s winding up”

Wow

Or the fact that Scarlet Witch fell in love with Ultron’s base consciousness lol

I said it at the time and it was true, later to be admitted by Feige, announcing and hyping up Infinity War before Age of Ultron even came out was a bad idea. It made AoU seem inconsequential even while I was watching it for the first time.

However, now that you can watch it in the context of prior AND later films - and you can binge them at home if you so desire - it's a decent piece of entertainment.

It's like TV shows - sometimes they really underwhelm when you're waiting a week between episodes. When you can binge them they improve.

You are right completely- these people are probably the worst of the lot and at best they are hypocrites

:exactly: :lecture :exactly:

Holy crap how about this:

Banner: “I’m in a time loop this is exactly where it went wrong!”

Stark: “It’s not a loop it’s the end of the line”

He even calls himself a Mad Scientist as in Mad Titan!

AOU is blowing my mind right now lol

Pratt definitely wasn't already "well-known". Guardians of the Galaxy is what made him an A-list star.

I guess the point is, Pratt had been on TV for years to that point, and was getting steady work, having been one of the stars of Parks & Rec for 5 seasons at that point. Bautista had just been a wrestler, looking to break into mainstream Hollywood, having only been in WWE-related (straight to DVD) films. They were on substantially different paths.

Amen. Thor Ragnarok was nothing but a bad joke fest.

It's honestly the only MCU film that I ever outright hated the first time I saw it (and still do) as I more or less enjoyed all of their other films for what they were the first time around even if some of them haven't aged well with me on repeat viewings. That flick is to me what TLJ is to many Star Wars fans.

But at least Infinity War made up for it.

And wasn’t it you with a Hela avatar for hela long time?
