Yeah his journey was definately beefed up in Thor 3/IW.

But A4 will be Cap’s turn followed by IM and Hulk leading the way.

Man this IW steelbook has garbage art.

The chosen photos for the 2 discs are also trash.

Nothing epic about this steelbook lol

Yeah the Steelbook is far from impressive and I can't believe they put the letterboxed 2.39:1 ratio on the discs and not IMAX when the whole damn film was shot on IMAX.

That said I've got it on now and holy crap this movie is awesome. The first 45 minutes are absolutely relentless with just one amazing sequence after another. And I love that even though this isn't Cap's movie the Russos clearly haven't forgotten their TWS roots since Cap, Widow, and Falcon by far have the best endances in the film. :rock

If they stick the landing with IW2 then other superhero studios might as well close up shop for good. Hell maybe even Marvel too.

I’m watching it now and i’m blown away how realistic Thanos looks on the “small” screen.

I’m sure they’ll release the 3D Imax ratio next year lol

First 2.39:1 IW2 in 2019, then five hour "one movie edition" in 3D IMAX in 2020, lol.

On a side note I think that Cumberbatch actually upstages RDJ in this movie which has never been done in an MCU film.

Happy to be able to stay on the love bandwagon on this one. It was great even on second and third viewings. The battle scenes somehow retained tension even knowing what happens. I particularly loved the ones involving Iron Man, Strange and Spiderman (with a few of the Guardians joining in the second). That combination of characters was a treat.

And the moment the film goes silent when Thanos stabs Iron Man through with his own blade....

I just finished my third viewing too. Holy crap this flick is just an absolute beast. Too many amazing moments to mention. That montage when Wanda is weakening the mind stone as all the heroes come at Thanos one at a time with Cap finally grabbing the glove is absolutely fantastic.

I like everything in this film. Every character, every subplot, everything.

I finally watched this last night, I had already known the plot and who lives/dies as well as seen so many clips I thought I had pretty much already sort of seen the movie etc... but I was wrong and I was pleasantly still blown away by it! My only nitpick was how strong Wanda's accent was in AoU and here its nonexistent, I mean Schwarzenegger has lived in the states for how many decades and still has a fairly heavy accent....I don't think they just disappear or if they do it wouldn't be so quickly. Also I prefer IM to look like hes in a suit of armor as opposed to the Iron Spandex thing hes currently got going on. Strange was SO powerful, it really made the character seem cooler than the comics were ever able to achieve, my wife watched it with me and turned to me and asked if Dr Strange was the most powerful hero in the Marvel Universe and I was like "Well I didn't think so before..."

Perhaps until Captain Marvel arrives.
:wink1:

My older daughter and I watched this in 4K, and it wouldn't be accurate to say that I had forgotten how much I loved this movie (I definitely remembered that), but I wasn't ready for how fresh and new and emotionally exhausting it would still be to me ... and this was my 11th time seeing it. I'm so happy to have this at home now. I foresee this disc getting abused over the near-term.
On a related note, I thought the 4K transfer looked brilliant. As mentioned above, the CGI on Thanos is simply remarkable.

Yeah that pervasive feeling of unrelenting danger that exists from the opening shot until the credits roll can't be properly experienced without seeing it firsthand.

Who would have expedited for Thanos to get what he wanted. . . .

Apart from some (but not all) horror films when do movies ever end with the main villain getting *exactly* what he wanted? Not just achieving partial victory or winning some key battles but actually achieving 100% of his established goal? The closest I can think of is ROTS but even then Palpatine didn't 100% extinguish the Jedi.

In IW Thanos set out to wipe out exactly 50% of the universe and he achieved it full stop. Sure it'll be undone to whatever degree next year but I think the finger snap and sunset smile will resonate and be remembered for years to come, possibly decades. You just don't see what happened in this movie happen in pretty much anything outside of *straight horror.* It's really quite amazing.

I don't really think so. Everyone who's ever seen a movie before knows it's going to get undone immediately. This isn't the end of the movie. This is the middle act. It's a bit of a cheat to say he "wins."

Nobody would stop watching LOTR right in the middle of Two Towers and declare it a victory for Sauron.

Watched this again on blu ray -- such an awesome movie. Might be Marvel's Best.

This movie is telling me to buy a 75 inch screen and move up to 4K. My wife has begun to agree... Christmas is coming. :)

I enjoy this movie more with each new viewing. It is so fast paced and pulls you in so much that my two viewing in the theater, I feel like I was too caught up in the pieces to even reflect on it as a whole and the more I see it and know what's coming and can just experience it as a whole, I like it even more.

I too caught this again the other day after buying the Blu-ray and still love it. It's impressive how this film along with Civil War technically have the same running time, yet the former doesn't feel like it runs anywhere near as long as the latter.

I disagree. He achieved what he desired completely. Right down to watching the sunrise when it was all over. Just because we know there's a part 2 and most of the damage done by Thanos will probably be undone doesn't mean he didn't win. He did. Half of life in the universe has been wiped away. Father's, mother's, brother's, and sister's lost family. Common people have no idea what's going on. There loved one's are gone and as far as they know, they aren't coming back.

The heroes failed to stop Thanos and are now left scrambling to figure out what to do and what their options are. The loss and pain of each death is still painful because in the moment it happened, none of the characters are thinking it's all going to be alright because we'll just undo everything Thanos has done. There was a sense of great loss and failure. When we see Cap on the ground looking off in the distance and saying "Oh God"...it showed me how devastating the loss was. For me personally, nothing the Avengers do in the next movie will change the way I felt about the ending of this one.

The movie looks fantastic! You can see where all the money went.

Did they fix the weird looking Bruce Banner floating head CGI on the Blu-ray? That looked terrible on the big IMAX screen.

Marvel knows exactly what they’re doing with these reversable deaths they removed the focus from those who DIDN’T die for a reason and that will be key going into IW2.

Man is 4 going to be hard to sit thru.

Shortsided fickle people with their shortsided fickle complaints what are you going to do lol
