Avengers - The Infinity War a.k.a The Hot Toys Reckoning

I’m finally pumped up for IW! Thanos comes off as menacing as hell. Completely different than when we saw him in GOTG. Happy for that. Oddly enough, seeing the new hulk buster might be the highlight of the trailer for me. I haven’t been a fan of the new costumes for any of the characters in IW, so it’s refreshing to see a new suit in action that I’m jazzed about. Im cautiously hopeful they’ll be able to juggle all of the balls in the air gracefully. Seeing everyone together, you get a sense of how many marvel characters are in this. And then Thor meets Peter and the gang at the end.

Damn, that was one rousing trailer. I haven't been this riled up since "Chewie...we're home!"

Calling it now - at some point in the movie, Rocket's gonna need either:

a) Thor's eyepatch;
b) Bucky's arm;
c) Cap's beard.

Gah well the trailer is fantastic. I've rewatched it more times than I care to count.

I've also got a sinking feeling that I'm going to want the Infinity War version of a few characters I already own...

...Completely destroying my initial plan to just get the latest Iron Man and fill in the gaps by only buying the characters I didn't already own. (Which was going to be expensive enough tbh, given that the list was basically most of the male bit-players!)

Looks awesome! A couple quick thoughts are that Bucky has his new arm, which I think is probably vibranium, and War Machine is back up and running. Looks like it might be the Mark 3 again. Also Cap had pretty thick gauntlets on. Interested in seeing what they do.

I wonder if we'll get more 1/4 scale figures. I remember back during the first Avengers movie, Hot Toys teasing figures on that scale but never delivered.

I believe it was revealed to be Mark 51, not 48. But I agree, it's going to be a challenge to nail it, but i'm confident they will put in maximum effort for that figure at least. There are so many figures I want from IW, but the new Iron Man is the one i'm most excited for. Best armor design since XLV.

Certainly sounds like she's not going to make it, does she...Bye Bye solo movie...So my BW collection will likely end with the sixth Widow figure.

Frankly, if it wasn't Kevin at the helm, I think I would be very, very nervous to be losing these pillars and the people who paved a way for characters like the Wasp. When he walked me through the general story arc of Infinity War, it dawned on me: oh, I understand now, we're moving into this new Phase. The color of that new Phase can be clearly seen emerging through Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: Ragnarok. It's just a more colorful, more playful, heightened reality that we're going to enter.

Er - well, for me while I loved Ragnarok and the Guardians are fun. that wasn't the part of the MCU I took to. It's under the Russo's watch I've been happiest; also w. Iron Man 1 way back. Not exactly sure what Feige has in mind but if the MCU wanted to go a different direction I would have gone with some sort of tech thriller w. the Black Widow and the Winter Soldier, adding in new characters or cameos but something pretty dark.
Maybe R rated. Or a Thor/Asgard reboot that's also pretty dark.

Hearing all this stuff about "color" and new cast members - for me, I just don't get that thrilled about the idea of a movie with just Rocket and Groot (rumored). I might go to a theater to see it, but I doubt I'd buy the figs.

Anyway, OK maybe nothing lasts and this MCU has had a heck of a run. So I'll just take a wait and see attitude and be glad I picked up the 1/6 and CW 1/4 polys $$$$. (Who knows, in a few years maybe I'll be picking up some DC figs!)

But yeah, after the trailer - Cap and Bucky for sure; gotta get a better look at everyone else; also remember that IW 2 is coming $$$

Thor's armor looks like a slightly modified version of the first Thor movie. Not caring for it much either. And why is Black Widow's hair blonde now?

I'm a little unhappy not seeing more knives/guns on Bucky. That kinda annoyed me in CW but well, OK.

But bein' in Wakanda w. access to an arsenal I would have thought he'd have a knife or two. I get he may or may not be full on Winter Soldier mode; and I get that foot soldiers rely on speed and agility a lot and not being weighed down; and I get it would be a real mistake to put him in gear that was too similar to TWS and all that. Just doesn't seem tho like Bucky Barnes, going into battle, wouldn't have a knife in his boot.

Well, maybe Bucky does have more weapons; this trailer doesn't show a lot of detail (which is fine). Hafta hope BW has some weapons as well.

Guess we'll find out whenever HT decides to showcase some figs. I wouldn't mind SAVING on figs for a change.

And why is Black Widow's hair blonde now?

Just assume it's because she's a fugitive. I read somewhere it's the most obvious stuff like hair, glasses etc. that people change first when on the run. People tend to notice red or reddish hair too.

The new Hulkbuster suit is probably Tony upon realizing Wakanda is in trouble but he can't be everywhere around the world so he sends it or have Banner use it to help Cap, Black Panther etc.
