I'm not happy about being skipped over on the wait list. I will take blame for not getting an order in on time but being skipped over a wait list isn't acceptable. I don't buy the time thing either, I would think a computerized system would put in the correct order/wait list time)

:lecture

What he said (except that I'm not quite ready to cancel my regular just yet).

You guys might also want to check your order status on the Sideshow site. I've had waitlist items convert and never get anything but a shipping notice.

I emailed SS about this and received a response. They basically said that it is impossible to skip over someone if they ordered first, then said the following:

"It is likely that the time does not reflect the order in which the names were added, but rather at what time the system was able to process and confirm the reservation".

I still don't understand it, seeing as how I received my confirmation email mere seconds after the reservation was placed.

Sounds like you got royally screwed over. SS should cancel all those Wl, and look them over in the order they were recived.

What did CS have to say about the whole thing?

I promised that I wouldn't quote CS directly :), but the person I spoke with (whom I have spoken to many times before, so I trust them) was as baffled as we are, and was certain that the system SHOULD be converting in timestamp order, based on the value that shows in our accounts. I am assuming that everyone put him/herself on the list using that timestamp, and not the one from the email (which can differ).

The suggestion was to take it to Dusty for a definitive answer.

Yeah... those times are the timestamp from the order. The other one has a totally different syntax.

Weird.

Let us know what Dusty says.

So, the answer is...

No one has any clue how this happened (or could have happened), since the software is supposed to automatically process the conversions in chronological order, and the timestamp in our account is the official reservation time, and that is what is used to determine the aforementioned chronological order.

I feel so much better now... :banghead

I read the reply..so basically, the "computer" should do it correctly...but we're looking at it not doing it correctly. :huh looks like a non-answer to me...:(

And I am betting that this is not the first time this has happened since it is not the first time someone is making claim that someone who got on a WL after them had an order convert before theirs.
