I have just as much god damned right to complain about ^^^^ty servers as you do to complain about ^^^^ty paint jobs on you 1:1 IM bust.

Did you personally buy the server, have it arrive damaged, return it, then have the manufacturer refuse to follow through with their policy?

Didn't think so. Again, try logging on sooner next time, @$$hat.

the first people who got their "place order" buttons successfully clicked are the ones who got their pre-orders in.

How is that not a lottery? If I'm there first and I'm skipped, it's not first come/first served.

God dammit, not this crap again...
Seriously, get a petition going or something instead of complaining.

How about I add you to my ignore list and you add me to your ignore list? No good can come from our dialog.

Again, you weren't there first. First, in this context, is the first person who sees an order number on their screen. Even if the servers had been handling the capacity, you might still have been "first" to the site, maybe even "first" to the product page, but still have been "second" when it came to getting that order button pressed, for a variety of reasons. That isn't a lottery, and you were not singled out in any way. You had the same chance that the rest of us had.

How do you know if you were first?

No good can come from anything you say.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. Whether due to physical resource limits or lack of bandwidth, if the servers are not treating each connection equally, then not everyone has the same opportunity to successfully make it to the "complete order" button. I know my connection kept getting dropped, even after successfully adding it to my cart. I'll be the first to admit if the servers were handling capacity then my complaint would be moot.

I emailed SS about this and received a response. They basically said that it is impossible to skip over someone if they ordered first, then said the following:

"It is likely that the time does not reflect the order in which the names were added, but rather at what time the system was able to process and confirm the reservation".

I still don't understand it, seeing as how I received my confirmation email mere seconds after the reservation was placed.

so your NOT added to the waitlist in the order that your processed and confirmed??

I am thinking about changing the title of my thread (yes folks, its MY thread) to pretty dang pathetic wait list thread. The two of you please take your petty bickerings to PM please.

Robodad I hope SS gets this figured out for you.

I read it more as, "our server was so screwed up and overwhelmed that our IT was rebooting repeatedly and multiple order checkouts were sitting and trying to go through at once; once the server rebooted, some of the orders that went through, say 10 minutes or so earlier, got the new timestamp." I know I had hit "checkout" 20-30 times over the course of an hour and got timeouts/errors nonstop.

Honestly, I don't even think Sideshow knows what the heck to do about their server issues and sometimes they just make up excuses to try and explain the many IT issues that plague them. They just switched to a new webpage, so I doubt that they will do any major changes like that again anytime soon.

I'm just going to guess here at what keeps happening on these Thursday shinanigans...

-First the pre-order goes up
-Then everyone and there mother tries to log onto the site to place their order
-When the Sideshow server can't handle the traffic, it reboots... and in doing so kicks off anyone connected to it regardless of what part or the ordering process your in.
-After the Sideshow server boots up again, it re-filters orders in with a clean slate.
-This means that if you were halfway through the ordering process when it rebooted... your outta luck and you gotta start over again.

I'm going to cancel the regular. If my waitlist for the exclusive doesn't convert, I won't have a Patient Zero and life will go on (just in a more crappy mood than if I did have one). I'm not happy about being skipped over on the wait list. I will take blame for not getting an order in on time but being skipped over a wait list isn't acceptable. I don't buy the time thing either, I would think a computerized system would put in the correct order/wait list time)
