I'm going out for some more stouts shortly. I've been wanting to try Young's Double Chocolate and Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, so I think I'll pick those up.

Have you had Young's Oatmeal Stout? I liked that one more than their chocolate.

I just had Young's Double Chocolate last weekend. I mean I've had it a year or two ago prior to that, but yes it's a very tasty beer.

I have not. I don't recall if I've seen it around here, but I'm going to look for it.

Working on some Sweetwater Ga Brown and their limited edition Happy Ending tonight. Both are great locals.

Went to RSVP Discount Beverage in Portland. They didn't have Young's Oatmeal Stout but I did get the Double Chocolate. Also picked up bombers of Southern Tier Oat, Southern Tier Choklat, Rogue Chocolate and Bar Harbor Cadillac Mountain.

The Cadillac Mountain Stout is the only one I've had before. I sampled it at the Maine Brew Fest back in November. It was my 2nd favorite beer I tried that day. Allagash Black was #1.

Also tried Well's Banana Bread Ale this weekend. It was ok. The Banana hints are nice at first but that's about it. It was as if it was lacking a little something.

Also had some Rasputin's double stout. 9% content. Very good!

Had a growler of this on Sat afternoon with the Arsenal game and some of the Steelers game. Very, very good beer. Kind of a mix between an IPA and red ale.

And the wife picked up a 6-pack of this for us to try. It did taste like chocolate milk..very tasty.

This is upsetting. Black Chocolate Stout is no longer available here. It maybe in the future, but as of now, no.

Brooklyn Brewery's website says it's only available from Oct-March. Maybe the place you buy it from has stopped carrying it for the season since the spring ales will start showing up soon.

I just watched some of the local news and they closed with a feature on a new Brewer here in Maine, Baxter Brewing Co. They just started putting their beer in cans yesterday.

So far they only have two beers being made, a pale ale and an IPA, but they sold out of t-shirts before their beer was even available. All of their beers are going to be canned -which I'm not a big fan of- but I'll have look for it when I go grocery shopping next weekend and give them a try.

I have always wondered if Shiner is easy to come by outside of Texas. I always thought it was.

I'd never heard of them but, apparently their bock is distributed to 41 states, and the closest one to me is Pennsylvania.
