Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis, "of freedom"[1]) is the belief in the importance of liberty and equality.

Conservatism (Latin: conservare, "to conserve") is a political and social philosophy that says that traditional institutions work best and society should avoid radical change.

Well....Liberals want to keep our freedom right?

And if Conservtives dont want change, and we're free...they want freedom....so....WHY ARE WE FIGHTING!?! :D

When I say promotes hate, I mean just that. Beck says Obama hates America, the constitution, and white people. Look it up. When has anything like that been said by anyone else on TV, Conservative or Liberal?

I know you mean it.

Honestly, that stuff is no different from the horrible things that were said by leftist media outlets during the Bush Administration. Olbermann specifically accused Bush, Cheney and the entire military of being "cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objective." Bush and Cheney were likened to terrorists, called fascists, accused of warmongering for profit, of sending American troops and innocent Iraqi civilians to death for their own stock portfolio or corporate buddies.

Where were you then? Probably applauding. It isn't about "hate", it is about ideology.

(1) "Love your enemy" does not mean endorse their behavior. If you believe God has defined a right and wrong way to behave, and you believe they are on the wrong path ... is it really "love" to say nothing?

(2) Christians are, by nature, imperfect. We simply are incapable of loving to the extent we are asked to. For instance, I have a daughter ... if she were severaly harmed or killed by someone, I'd be lucky to avoid hunting them down and killing them, much less to "love" them.

(3) I hope the terrorists find Salvation before we find them ... but that doesn't mean we should stop looking, and start shooting when they pop up.

I agree with you. I have a much more open view of Christianity. In terms of homosexuality, Jesus never said homosexuality is wrong. Mathew 19:11 and Levictus 18:22 said it is a sin, but then again so is cutting your hair and eating shellfish in Levictus.

"Liberalism" in U.S. political discourse refers to social and economic progressivism.

But that's not the definition...lol. I'm just sayin...why dont we all just...get along?

You don't consider your comments about Beck to be judging him?

Decent point...however, I feel that if you judge someone before you know them, keep that to yourself. There's little point in spewing it all over the earth.

Stupid haters are stupid haters...
regardless of being "liberals" or "conservatives"
I've seen a lot of questionable acts by people from every political view...

My views exactly.

I don't agree with everything either side says. What bothers me is when either side has to resort to absolute BS to try to get a point across.

If people took the time to do whats best for everyone as much as we could things would be a lot better off. We sadly are only too concerned with spreading hate about each other and doing whats right by us.

There is a distinction to be made between more strictly analytical judgment and more normative judgment. I think the biblical decree concerns the latter. Some on either side of the ideological debate no doubt see themselves as being objective observers and others as being advocates for extreme ideas and behavior.

No. Beck can live his life the way he chooses. I do not wish to make him change his ways. We are imperfect, so sometimes I can get very riled up with what he says, especially in the name of God. But, to me judgment involves the feeling or need to punish. If people were to say, "that person is immoral and needs to be punished," that would be judging others. I do not Agree with Beck, because he is pretty looney, but he does not deserve punishment for speaking his mind.

Also, I think the word "haters" should be banned, and never used again. Stupid ____ing word....

I agree. Now, if everyone would just come around to my way of thinking, everything would be fine!:monkey3

Agree. When I speak of judgment, I am referring to the punishment brought upon by God. God will do the judging and punishing. I have no right, IMO, as a Christian, to say who should and shouldn't be punished by God. Like the saying goes, "who am I to judge?"
