Hey, I'm just going by how SSC seems to be treating the statues versus the action figures.Says the guy pining for a Tom Clancy HAWX Ace....

Sideshow is borrowing from multiple vintage sources for the PF's. Cobra Commander was not based off his card art but rather his booted and caped appearance in 1987's "GI Joe The Movie."
Baroness keeps the same theme going with most of her outfit from the card art/cartoon and her heels from various issues of the original Marvel comics.

this is not star wars or darth vader, who cares if the joes are slightly different as long as they look good. the whole point of gi joe was to dress them up however you want anyway...

Baroness didn't actually appear in G.I. Joe #18, nor could she have been wearing heels if she did, as she was confined to a hospital bed with her entire body (excepting her hair, oddly) wrapped in bandages from injuries sustained in G.I. Joe #16.
Her costume had flat heels in her first appearance in the first issue, and thereafter her boots appear to fluctuate between having high heels and being as as flat as the card art for the action figure, often in-between panels in the same issue, so obviously there's some artistic inconsistency in the visuals in the comics.
As far as the statue though, it's just... it's like if Rob Liefeld was given charge of making a statue based on v2 Snake Eyes.
We could have a hulking Snake Eyes with tiny feet?

As opposed to largely going their own way for the 1/6th figures.
If/when they preview Baroness, I suspect that given past precedent she'll not look a thing like either the PF statue or the original art, except for wearing something black and tight-fitting.

Thinking about canceling my Dutch PF to get this. I can only really get one right now. I'd get burned the $35 deposit i put on him but oh well. I see this Baroness being extremely valuable and desirable on the secondary market. Not that I would sell it because I would not...hmm. Decisions, decisions....
