Mine arrived in town today and is being held at Fed Ex. I can't pick it up until tomorrow because I work 24 hour shifts :gah:

I almost want to go home sick so I can go pick it up :lol. I am Definitely going to video opening it in case there are an QC issues.

Has anyone heard back from SS saying what they are going to do about the problems?

Feel your pain bro, mine is being held at UPS, possibly until Friday when I'm not busy.
Miss being a kid.

The paint is metallic. You can't sand metallic paint like this, because it won't match. The metallic flakes have a certain size and consistency, and the color depends upon the thickness being uniform. If the paint is enamel, the shine is entirely in the outermost layer of the paint. There will be improvement by polishing, but it will never be perfect, and it will be noticeable.
Also, I really doubt that this paint is thick enough to sand. I bet it is no more than two thin coats. It isn't as thick as car paint, because this model isn't designed to suffer wear.

There's metallic paint on yours? Hmm, interesting. There isn't a single metallic flake in my Batmobile's low gloss black finish on the main body, much less two coats of it. Anybody else have thie QC issue of Hot Toys neglecting to apply the metallic flake paint coat? :panic:

I did notice tiny sparkles on my fingers after touching it, almost like it was a metallic black so I dunno.

I wasn't about to go full on OCD and use gloves for this thing (I've made fun of people in the past that handled their dollies with latex gloves to protect them). I thought simple and thorough hand washing would suffice but the finish is "sensitive". Every time I touched it I'd see a "spot" that would either thankfully disappear like condensation or stay put and slightly smear.

I'm starting to regreat not buying this. All photos and videos I've seen it looks amazing.

Now the paint is starting to rub off on your fingers too?! And just from touching it?? (I'm guessing you weren't trying to rub the paint off) DUDE! This is nucking futs shoddy QC. I've seen nothing at all remotely like this on mine. HT/SS must have sent you the very worst one in their batch! They better replace yours.

It's not like my fingers are turning black. :lol

I just noticed that, yeah, there is a subtle metallic sparkles on my fingers after I touch it. It's nothing crazy, the finish overall is quite sensitve I'd imagine given the fantastic sheen they were ableUnless that was from the screwdriver and knife I used for the screws and to open the box.

Other than the scratches on my canopy, back part of the vehicle near the hatch and the dings on my cocoon, it seems fine. I did notice that the passenger seat is considerably wobbly though. My driver seat is completely static, the passenger one wiggles around like a loose tooth, especially towards the top.

Really interesting. I don't even have the slightest evidence of metallic sparkle on fingers after handling my Batmobile, and there's not even the tiniest visible metallic flakes on the black finish of it either, and I just checked with a magnifying glass to be sure. Anybody else other than DiFabio and Blackthorne get one of the black-metallic painted Batmobiles? It's weird that some would have it and others no sign of it. What gives HT?

My feelings to those that got scratched ones...thats a shame. :-/ I'd be in rage! Hopefully Sideshow will provide a solution.

DM, deep breath, sounds like you got a mint piece.

Thanks so much for a great review, I think your one of the first ones to show what Bats looks inside the cockpit. Looks good IMO. One thing I did notice is that your batmobile appears to have a heck of a lot of nicks and scratches, one in particular is very noticable when you are pulling the gun out...would you not consider getting in touch with Sideshow?

All I saw were dust and hair. Thanks for the video review, xenom0rph!
