I wasn't planning on getting this game, because I wasn't the biggest fan Arkham City's story and I'm not a fan of driving or tank combat. I'm not a big gamer, and I was just planning on buying Metal Gear Solid V for my gaming experience of the year. Since I got a deal at my local video store that gave half-off on rentals for the month, I figured I give the game chance.

I absolutely loved it! After renting the game multiple times, I 100%-ed the game on hard. I thought the main antagonists and plot were weak (I think they kind of were in all the games though), but
the Joker absolutely made up for it. He was another reason I dreaded playing the game, because I didn't trust that we wouldn't see him again. However, I was pleasantly surprised how awesome he was! It's amazing how the writers were able to make me laugh and cringe at him so seamlessly. Mark Hamill was incredible as always! I can understand how it could be annoying for some, but I totally dug it!

I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked not having the contrived boss encounters of Arkham City in this one ("Prove you're worthy of leading my army by gliding over sand"). The way this game was structured made me feel more like Batman.

Anyways, I really liked the game. I'd definitely say Rocksteady has made the best game trilogy I have ever played. Now my PS4 is back to it's rightful place as an expensive paperweight until September 1st!

Oh and for my ranking:

I'd probably go:

1. Arkham Asylum
2. Arkham Knight
3. Arkham City

Then again, maybe I should knock Arkham down a notch for it's inclusion of Bane. I shed a tear every time I see him in Asylum and City. Although I do that for every portrayal outside his comics in the 90s. Even my beloved Batman Animated Series messed him up. Oh well!

If you haven't checked out Banes portrayal in Arkham Origins you should, one of the best Bane characterizations I have seen!

Oh I have! Since they didn't make him a little shrimp that bloats up in size like in Aslyum, I wish they just would have completely separated the character from those games. The guy was 6'8' and super jacked without any substances. The venom didn't define his character, and I would prefer that they didn't give it to him at all. I'm sorry. I'm a really big Bane dork.

I got the 3 star rating on the final Riddler course! I can't believe it either! :slap

My best advice is to switch to the bumper cam, it will help A LOT.

Still not done the game, I'm 89% done and I have about 40 Riddler trophies and riddles left. I got 100% in everything else though.

Do you need to get all the riddler trophies to see the real ending? I've never been bothered with finding them.

It's a lot of fun. Granted, it can get annoying at times but I think figuring out the exact location of the trophies can be a great mental workout. :lol

Finally got a ps4 yesterday. Bought the bundle with the Batman game.
So far, its shaping up to be an epic game.
Loving everything so far, even the batmobile part.

I was worried about it cause of course, I hear that you are forced to use it all the time.
But for the most part, you can actually still use the rooftops if you want.
Some things of course wont let you progress unless you use the batmobile, but still, its not as bad as I thought.

The story so far is amazing.

What exactly do you like about the story?

I for one like how it's a collaborative effort to kill Batman... but I don't think it's executed properly since you don't really get intimate with any of the main baddies.. Arkham Knight is a good villain though.

So it seems my go to AOE move that I could keep the thugs from ganging up on you, Bat Swarm (Square and X on PS3, X and A on Xbox) is no longer available in this game, what would be a good substitute for that move?

What exactly do you like about the story?

There's a looming gloom that at least for me is working...its not much of spoiler cause its even on the commercial and the game starts off by saying this is how batman dies. Many times, my reaction to something like this is "Yeah right...Whatever".
But the acting is superb on this game...All the actors defintely brought their "A" game to this one. It has a feel of a Batman movie than a videogame.
So I'm getting the same vibe I got in TDKR where I actually dont know if they will do kill him or not.
I'm not that far into the game, so please...no spoilers about the ending! lol.

I love the homage to
"The Killing Joke" which is one of the my all time favorite comicbook.

I read about the lack of boss battles, and of course, like many, I thought what they heck are they thinking.
But I think I actually understand why they didnt because the boss battles also most of the times are what makes a videogame feel like a videogame.
That it breaks it up into levels.
The lack of boss battles makes this feel more like a continuous cinematic movie.

Btw, that SOB
Manbat scared the piss out of me!!!

I have to say that scene with
scarecrow on the roof with the barbara reveal and scarecrow dropping her off the roof has to be my favorite batman villain moment in...anything. He's so evil. Scarecrow has always been my favorite bat-villain and this interpretation was so menacing. Although, I was disapponted with how they dispatched him. No one seems to be able to come up with an interesting way to get rid scarecrow. Its always the same "turn his fear toxin back on him and he gets scared of bats" cliche. At least he was the one to unmask bats to the world. So grand.

I wish they put as much effort into scripting out sidequest boss battles like they at least went into for the DK. Even DP's has stages, but 2Face, Peng, Firefly, MB...
Least you "fought" the opera dude.

I have taken out 2Face the same way each time (normal, hard, now on knightmare), dropping in behind him and "silent takedown".
Ha, actually just did him on knightmare now that I recall.
Hacked the escalator on him...he falls, bats fly out, win. .
:dunno
