So im replaying Arkham Asylum and theres a part where Joker says "If you win, you can take Harley. It looks like you could use a new sidekick". So it immediately got me thinking about A Death in The Family and the possibility of The Red hood being in the Arkham universe.

Jason Todd is confirmed to be dead in this franchise so it's likely, since he was retconned after all

Well from Arkham City we know Tim Drake is the current Robin. Which means Jason has at the very least been killed. If they weren't introducing a new character, this would be an awesome Red Hood/Jason Todd story. Especially when he first came back and was pissed at Bruce. But as a story it would lose something if Joker is dead. I mean Jason's whole beef was that Bruce didn't kill the Joker after the Joker killed him. Either way, I would love for them to introduce Jason or bring Damian into the mix, trying to help his father in the darkest moments.

I just want to see a bit more of Tim Drake in this game, as he was basically reduced to a cameo appearance and DLC in AC.

I think if RS plans to go the route of Red Hood, they'll have to resurrect the Joker as an arch-nemesis as well. It'll be especially interesting to see how how much the Joker would change after being resurrected from the Lazarus pit (going back to how Jason Todd's mind was damaged beyond repair after his "resurrection").

In the comics Joker was resurrected once using the Pit. Whereas Ras and Jason are driven temporarily insane, it made Joker sane again. To the point where the man he was could not deal with all the evil he has committed. He begged to be killed, so he wouldn't hurt anyone else. Bruce wouldn't do it, and soon the sanity wore off, and he was back to normal. Jason's mind was fractured because he was brought back to life by Superboy Prime punching reality. He was little more than a walking vegetable when he first came back. Ras calls him a muscle that tenses when poked. The Pit restored Jason to normalcy.

But yeah, you need Joker to tell a Jason back from the dead story. I also hope Tim is more than a cameo. I would love to actually tackle a mission with him and Nightwing. Have the batfamily stand together for the final game.

Why? Is PS4 not capable of full 1080p?

It is capable but if the game takes a hit on the graphical side of things they will lower the resolution to get the performance they want.

I'm not a videophile by any means, but I thought that it was.

It might be it was just my guess since i think this game will be pretty demanding when it comes to hardware.

Thanks for the explanation, I need to get behind those! I assume that the comics you're referring to aren't from the New 52, right?

In any case, having Batman, Tim Drake and **** Grayson in a single story would be amazing. I'm not sure if it has ever been done in the comics (since I only started reading them a few years ago), but it sounds like a unique concept.

Edit: I noticed that D ick was censored :slap

The thing about this videogame series, (unlike the movies) is that each game tends find a reason to cram a lot of villains into the story, and this one seems to be no different in that regard. It makes sense for a game because you want it to be long enough and have enough variety between the "levels" and different boss fights/challenges. That said, I would be really disappointed if Arkham Knight is the Joker resurrected in any form, or even if Batman has an extended hallucination sequence starring the Joker. I understand that with Harley in it, they'd have to at least mention him in passing, but ideally, I don't want anything more. They wanted to kill off the Joker in this universe, and that's fine...leave him dead, deal with it, don't try to undo it in any way shape or form...and craft a great Batman story without him in it anyway. Even if they hadn't killed him off in AC, I wouldn't mind a game without him in the spotlight for once.

That's happened plenty of times in the comics. Off the top of my head, stories with Bruce, Nightwing and Tim Drake teaming up: KnightsEnd; A Gotham Knights arc where Bruce hypnotizes himself to forget he is Batman (and all his skills too) so that he can successfully make Hugo Strange doubt his identity (Nightwing and Robin have to save a genuinely scared Bruce Wayne).

Well, besides being a video game, the settings for the the last two games from RS were in "Arkham" - so, it'd make sense for Batman to interact with all of his archenemies who are in close proximity to him.

I just think it'll be strange to have a Batman storyline, where the Joker isn't directly involved, or at least lingering in the shadows somewhere. Regardless, I'm sure he'll be making a return, since the Lazarus Pit was stressed so much in Arkham City - and it'd be kind of odd for him not to.

Yeah this story was pre new 52. it was in Legends of the Dark Knight.

If you are looking for storylines where they team up: Wargames(Tim is no longer Robin, but he's still involved). Hush(Bruce teams up with Nightwing in one issue and Robin(Tim Drake) the next. The Resurrection of Ras al Ghul has them all teaming up with Talia to save Damian. No Man's Land: Gotham is devastated by an earthquake. Bruce refuses to let the JL help. It is all Batfamily in that one.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation.

Joker has been in some great stories. But there are plenty he's wasn't even mentioned. Court of Owls/Night of Owls is one from the new 52. Bruce Wayne Murderer/Fugitive is an excellent story where he's not around. He's in Hush, but Hush is like you were describing the video games. It's a long plot, where pretty much every major villain gets a moment to shine. I don't think he was in No Man's Land. And i am fairly certain he's not in War Games. War Games is all about Black Mask and Bruce.

I'll have to head to Midtown comics and check some of these out :lol. I did read Court of Owls, but I guess what I mean, is that even if the Joker isn't involved directly in a storyline, he's still alive somewhere, and biding his time for the right opportunity.

From what you mention, I guess they could kill him out of a storyline for good, and it'll be inconsequential to the overall plot. But, it's just strange to consider an interpretation of Batman where he's not around as Batman's greatest rival anymore.

1. That sounds really cool.

2. That sounds :lol :slap

I'm truly at a loss with these older comics, myself. I only recently got into reading Batman after the New 52 launched in 2011.

I did read Knightfall and Frank Miller's The Dark Knight returns before, but that was about it.

Cool tidbits in the video.

1. Paul Dini isn't writing... Rocksteady actually has in-house writers working on the project. Interesting.
2. Arkham Knight is a wholly new character.

I'll spoiler stuff if you haven't played Arkham City

1. Joker is Dead. Dead Dead Dead. He isn't coming back.
2. Harley isn't pregnant. It was an idea that was toyed with in City, but ultimately dropped.

DC would never let that cash cow stay dead. The only permanent deaths in comics are Uncle Ben and Thomas and Martha Wayne. But there are a tone of great stories for most of the characters. Joker has even been a good guy, or given up crime in a few stories.

1. It was. It was one of the few times you felt bad for the character.

2. It was the worst explanation of all time. The DC Animated film Under the Red Hood does it so much better, but just saying Ras put Jason in a pit out of feeling partly responsible for his death.

A good modern list of stories: Knightfall, Bruce Wayne Murderer/Fugitive, Hush, Under the Red Hood(Jason Todd Returns), War Games, Cataclysm/No Man's Land(Earthquake destroy Gotham), A Death in the Family(Jason Todd's Death), A Lonely Place of Dying(Tim Drake appears as Robin), Batman and Son(Damian Wayne shows up), Batman R.I.P.(not my favorite, but I am in the minority on not really liking it)
