They really need to have movie skins in this game. Now, they probably have the technology to pull off a Keaton or Bale likeness/Batsuit.

Source? Where/when was this confirmed?

EDIT...found it here https://batman-news.com/2014/03/05/batman-arkham-knight-include-batmobile-skins/

Doesn't look like much yet. Different color and slightly different shape from the completed Batmobile. If they do other Batmobiles (Nolan, Burton, Animated etc...) I hope they give them as much detail as they did to their own Batmobile. I'd hate to get an 89 Batmobile or Tumbler that feels tacked on and low-res compared to the game's main version.

Just dreaming here, but it would be great if they released a SDK for the PC version (or even for consoles somehow!) so fans can add their own Batmobile models. I've got a few that are almost ready to go (would need some updating to be as detailed as current gen allows though).

EDIT 2: We already know they've got basic 3D models of quite a few Batmobiles on file:

The makers of this arcade game borrowed RS's AA Batmobile model for their game, so I see no reason they can't return the favor for AK. But like I said before, as cool as these models look, they'd need to be updated. They're a little too "soft" and light on the detail level for the current gen.

At the very least, I could see them doing The Tumbler, as the mechanics seem so similar.

I know what you all mean, but it's so weird for me to hear alternate Batmobile options (and even alternate Batsuits) referred to as "skins". It sounds like it's just a re-texturing of the game model (this is what alternate "skins" were in older games), but nowadays here what we're really talking about are completely different 3D models.

I'd like at least models of the 92, 97 Animated versions + 89 and Begins movie suits and Batmobiles. Of course I'd gladly accept the 66 and Forever (it drove on walls!) versions too, but they aren't tops for me.

Yeah those sharp, angular edges and thick front wheels really remind me of the Tumbler. I wouldn't be too surprised if it went full Bat-Pod on us at some point in the game.

'89 Batmobile FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that's possible. The model of the AK Batmobile is vastly different than any other Batmobile in history. Texture to texture, you can't slap another existing Batmobile skin onto the car and call it a day. If anything, they may make variant skins inspired from other Batmobiles, but that may be as far as they go. What you guys are asking for is completely different models, which if implemented the way Rocksteady is implementing the current Batmobile, will add even more development time to the game. Surely you guys don't want that, right?

Many Batman suits were entirely different models though.... I'm sure they'll add at least another Batmobile, it's Rocksteady!
I think it's quite different comparing the Batman skins to getting a completely different model skin for the Batmobile. As SirRoscoe said, the model of the AK Batmobile is completely different from any other Batmobile. They would have to do a completely new model for say the 89 Batmobile and even have a completely different collision set up for that model. It's 10x easier for them to make Batman skins than doing a complete model makeover for the Batmobile.

If anything the most I see them doing is offering different paint scheme skins for the Batmobile as this "prototype" one.

I do see different models in there, and in Arkham Origins the differences are even more pronounced, not to mention you can play as the Joker, Desthstroke, etc etc, needless to say, they even more different than the Batman suits.

Besides, physics do all the job these days, just change the model and the world around will act accordingly, how do you think they do it in GTA? As you see they're adding at least one more Batmobile.

Not necessarily, especially if these Batmobile models have already been in development concurrently with the main game and just not revealed yet, which is par for the course with DLC in this series. More Batmobile options wouldn't delay the stated release of the game anymore than Harley Quinn's Revenge or any of the other DLC in the Arkham series did--which is to say, no major delays at all in this series so far (knock on wood). Also, as I stated before, WB Games already has basic LOD models of several of these Batmobiles on file from their Batmobile game that RS could modify and port to this--maybe they even already have higher-res LOD versions ready to go too. Again, if they do this, it doesn't have to be ready to ship with the game on release day.

Very good points. I agree that's its a completely different case comparing the relative ease of making different Batsuits--with slight model shape variations--to completely different shaped models for the various Batmobiles. Since all of the Batmobiles have different shapes, the bounding boxes / collision detection would be tricky if they offered different Batmobiles for use in the main storyline...although, I think the Tumbler basic shape is close enough that it could use the same collision detection box.

And, even if alternate Batmobiles are unavailable for use in the main story, they can still release DLC missions that are designed to allow for their use--just like Robin and Nightwing weren't playable in AC main story, but could be freely selected for the challenge maps.

What I want to know: will we be able to access the Batcave? I know WB Montreal was the first studio to implement it, but, if this game gives us access to the entirety of Gotham, and we don't have access to the Batcave (rather, Oracle's hub), that will seem kind of like a regression.

Well, the only thing that worries me is how focused they are on Oracle's hub being available, and I worry that it'll be a situation similar to AA, where that's where you'll be headed, as it's convenient ; when you've got the whole of Gotham at your feet, you need to be able to go to the Batcave.
