Origins was great and it actually had a better art design than this.

What exactly do you mean by "art design?" Are you referring to the suit, or Gotham City, or the whole game in general, because, I'll be honest, as far as art design goes, outside of a very obvious graphical upgrade that meant Gordon no longer looks like a retired NFL quarterback and a newly designed suit/Batmobile, the game really doesn't look that different to me.

The character designs, the city not so much, it was bland, but the characters designs have a lot more personality than what I've seen in AK.

They do look a lot different to me.

Actually, blame it on WB. Roscksteady was already working on an AC sequel immediately after they finished AC. However WB insisted on a new game by 2013 which RS couldn't deliver, so they had to pass the engine to WB Montreal against their will, thus Arkham Origins was born.

RS praised WB Montreal for their handling of the engine and license, and gave them free reigns and creative freedom so long as it doesn't contradict the prior games.

Personally, I enjoy Origins just fine. It's no classic, and I never plan on getting 100% completion. My biggest problem with it is that it felt more of the same and I'd rather be playing AC again. But as a stop gap for a new, true Batman game, I think it did just fine.

At least a lot of effort went into the cash-in and it's a full game, unlike say, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. So whatever grievances you have on its' existence, blame it on WB.

:exactly:

Also, Origins didn't promote itself as the next, progressive step in the Arkham series. WB strived to retain the gameplay and mission elements of Arkham City, instead of inventing something completely new. And in that regard, WB succeeded.

As for Ground Zeroes, I've had more re-playability out of Indie games that I ever did with Kojima's one-hour demo :lol.

Yeah, Gotham in AO was so bland and numbs your mind, but the character designs are nice. Not digging the AK designs at all such as the Batmobile was designed by Michael Bay, but that doesn't mean I don't have faith in RS. I'll eat fried crow crow with rice if this turns out less than sublime.

Spot on. WB Montreal had been given the existing engine to make the another game under orders from WB, they didn't had much room to improvise since it was RockSteady's established foundation. I'm not saying the game is an all time classic, but thankfully it turned out nicely under those expectations.

MGSV is an original product and at one point was even falsely marketed. For something so new and promising it personally didn't deliver for me, especially for the $20 I paid for it. Toys, t-shirts, Iphone cases, man they're trying to get as much money out of me as possible. :lol

This was the only next gen AAA title i was thinking was gonna break the cycle of delays. Looks like its an unspoken rule now for AA titles to be delayed

Given the crazy budget of these things, its a 'natual' evolution. In a way, that's a good thing. Remember when games were released and buggy? I think devs are more and more wary of doing this, given the 'first impression' nature of gamers. They have one chance to get it right with some folks; if that means we get fully polished games, I am all for it.

Really sorry for my grammar earlier, all - need to proofread myself better!

This actually builds my excitement by evoking feelings of nostalgia. I remember getting pumped for Asylum to launch in May, only to have it delayed to October. Plus, this gives me more time to upgrade my TV and console.:lol

Did you ever bought the HDTV you mentioned way back, batfan?

Wow...so much for Batman's "no-guns" rule. The Batmobile is loaded.... still not fond of the design.

No surprise about the delay, but knowing Rocksteady it'll pay off for the best. These publishers and developers should stop announcing release dates until they're 110% certain when it'll be coming out.

:lol

Come to think of it, didn't all his cars have guns on 'em.

Penguin looks the same, Harley looks the same, Two-Face looks the same. Batman's armored suit, aesthetically, seems like an evolution of the armored suit in Asylum, so, please, do tell me how the developers "don't give a **** about keeping the style and aesthetics of the series?"

Don't mind him. :lol

The Burtonmobile had the twin machine guns on them and I think the Batwing had some on it too but he never really shot anyone with it (except the Joker but he stopped firing just shy of him)...just basically "threatened" all the time.

It makes sense for Bats to have these from a vigilante/one-man-army perspective and one of the guns does mention "non-lethal rounds", but the missile launcher with incendiary rounds? Yeaaaa...you might kill someone with that, Bruce.

I think most of the comic Batmobiles didn't have guns or weren't shown with them. Maybe the Bat-tank from "The Dark Knight Returns"?

All Batmobiles have weapons, most of them are for clearing paths and crown control, none of them have lethal purposes, there's nothing wrong with them.

Except the Burton Batmobile and Batwing guns, those were for lethal purposes only, apparently.

The game probably disables the lethal weapons being used on people just as it prevents you from being able to use the Batmobile to run over thugs.
