If Arkham Knight is literally an unknown, they ought to do one hell of a job writing the character for the role to stand out among all the existing Bat-wannabes. Beyond that, Lincoln March isn't exactly an old character though, since he served as the Big-Bad of what was a well-received storyline that relaunched the New52 Batman comics. The fact that he's essentially another anti-Batman that easily fits the "edgy-Batman-knockoff-with-dangerous-weapons" criteria of Arkham Knight still makes him a possible candidate. Not many people know the character too, since he's a fairly new villain.

After IM3 and AO I don't trust that the villain is what we are lead to believe anymore.

I didn't mind IM3 (enjoyed the twist and Killian was fine), and I've softened towards AO (provided the best writing for Joker in the Arkhamverse), but the recent trend of bait-and-switch villains has definitely made me wary. :lecture

New photo of Scarecrow...holy crap.

Didn't Rocksteady say the Arkham Knight is a completely new character that DC gave them free reign to create from scratch? So, when he is unmasked/revealed, it's not going to be anyone that previously appeared in comic books/movies/cartoons/any other Bat-verse.
Yeah, that's what Rocksteady said.

But that doesn't mean it's the case.

So I kinda hated the original scarecrow look in game 1. This looks great, but is there a specific reason he looks and sounds different? Storyline related or just creative decision changes? That what I want to know...?

In one of the random ending scenes, you see Scarecrow's hand come out of the water and rest on the remaining Titan chemicals. So there is a chance that he has been experimenting with it. And in comics Crane always tests his stuff on himself.

The first Scarecrow was an escaped inmate of the Asylum. That wasn't his normal get-up. It was prison fatigues, a hood and gloves ... and the hood and gloves look like they might've been stitched together from prison clothes. Though, don't ask where he got the gas mask or syringes.

The new design can be easily explained as the actual Scarecrow costume when he's not stuck in a rubber room.

I still thought the whole "no shirt" thing was stupid/kind of ruined a super badass design. This new rendition takes all the great elements and brings them to a whole new level, while introducing new elements that improve te design, my only thing is "why bother with a gas mask, when you've got an opening for your mouth cut in it?:lol Though, perhaps they're following the comics, where ol' Johnny Crane's dosed himself so many times that it no longer affects him. It'd explain the holes in his mask and the glaucoma eyes.

Actually I think the reason he looks like this is because Croc tore him up during the events of Asylum, this is the end result and about two years worth of healing. I love the look of this, it makes me think of a more badass version of the New Batman Adventures design.

I forgot about that :lol. I wonder how Scarecrow even survived in the first place.

I don't know about the gas mask, but I don't think it'd be too difficult to find syringes in a Mental Institution.:lol

Maybe riot gear gas masks. Or maybe it was just confiscated from him when he was locked-up, and he retrieved it. Or maybe ... just maybe ... we're way over-thinking this and nobody at Rocksteady really gave a crap where he got 'em. Heh.

Pretty much. If you were referring to what was in the syringes, though, if you did all the riddles, we know that he has his own hideout under the elevators in Arkham Asylum, so, perhaps, he had an emergency stash hidden there (along with his mask, perhaps?). Now, that makes me think of Crane escaping from his cell, with the aid of some other inmates, and rushing to his secret lair to grab all his crap.:lol

I'd love to see what he looks like under the mask, though. It'd be greatif we got to see Batman tear it off his face.

Really dig the new Scarecrow design compared to the AA Scarecrow, which looked and sounded like he escaped from "Nightmare Before Christmas".

Can't beat the TNBA Scarecrow though. :lol

The cool thing is this actually seems kind of like an updated, realistic version of that design; the cataracts, the teeth showing through the the stitching, and the hole that makes you wonder if Croc tore his nose off, or if it's part of the mask, not to mention the noose around his neck. It seems like they incorporate the best elements of the character's various designs.
