I'm all for a Arkham Aslyum/Arkham City look ESP his costume.
I agree with this.

Frankly, I like that Batman has a little armor and that the core of his suit actually does protect in the Arkham games, but only to an extent, like in the Nolan films. I will admit the TDK suit needed to be more flexible.

Anyway, Nolan did touch upon the detective side, but didn't go all out Sherlock Holmes. Which is probably because that wasn't the focus of the character, unlike in the comics, where he actually has to rely on his uncanny sense of preperation and detective work to survive in the DCU.

Considering that none of the movies acknowledge their existence in a larger DC Universe, Batman has merely practiced detective skills more grounded in reality. However, the shattered bullet fingerprint ordeal was a bit of a stretch.

Now, if the reboot does acknowledge the world around them and Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and the Green Lantern all exist, in passing or otherwise, then... that particular incarnation of Batman needs to live up to his legend in the slueth department.

Exactly. That's what sets him apart.

Whatever they decide will work for me, I just don't ever want these movies to stop being made, but i do want them to be decent!

Trying to find more information about the announced Batman Reboot in 2014, but can't find any other source material or article.. Sharing what I found:

I wonder who will be cast as Batman in 2014.. Unless JGL bulks up, I don't see him donning the Cowl, as he is too skinny! :slap

Well if the new Superman movie is as grounded in reality as they say it is.....and WB wants to do a Justice League movie starting with the Superman film. Then the next Batman film has to be grounded in reality as well.

I think Nolan ended TDKR so that if WB wanted to continue the Batman story in Nolan's universe, they could.

Maybe Blake will be the next Batman on film. You wouldn't need the other characters either, their story is done. It would be all new characters with Blake being the only one returning.

But I would assume Nolan's world would only continue with his approval on a director. Perhaps David Goyer or his brother Johnathon Nolan? Both who have had significant involvement in Nolan's Batman universe; and his trust.

I'm interested in this. I like all the proposals in the OP, but I'd like DC to introduce some other guys successfully before gearing up for another Batman.
I WANT a Flash movie now!!!!!

Isn't The Flash one of the main superheroes of the JLA? I would hate it if they just made him a Black Widow/Hawkeye.

Same for Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman.

I really hope they just do what Marvel did and build to it with a movie for each one.

If there is indeed no continuation from the Nolan-verse, then I'd personally like to see them go a more comic like route instead of the 'realistic' approach from the last ones. I think that'd be a good way to set them apart from Nolan's, that way it doesn't turn out to be a straight up comparison fest. In other words, I'd like to see the crazy supernatural like villians, such as clayface, killer croc, etc.

All that aside though...2014? Really?? And I thought the spidey reboot was too soon!

They need an actor who could work well with and look good next to Cavill's Superman.

Should they cast younger or older for the reboot?

Maybe it (Batman 2014) shouldn't be called a "reboot", but a different version, to avoid comparisons? :dunno

Director has to be different.. Really hoping Aronofsky considers doing this.

Aronofsky's would be darker than Nolan's, which I wouldn't mind. He already has a script done but it's a year one script from years ago. I don't think many want to see that again though.

I'd like David Fincher personally

Aranofsky would be cool but he already had a vision for Batman which was very very elseworlds and standalone in nature, so clearly that would need to change
