After 2 long weeks our schedules have finally matched, and the seller and I were able to meet up earlier to seal the deal. As if the great offer of $400 wasn't good enough, the kind seller cut $25 more for the long wait (he was about to go on a trip the day I messaged him to purchase the bust). My first life-size bust and @ $375 -- I'm so happy!

#995 now watches over me. Sorry for the crappy pics. The bust is almost perfect -- some poor cutlines on the paint here and there, but not that bad. As for the "issue" which prompted the seller to sell this at that price -- a faint quarter-inch long red stain -- so faint no one at home even noticed

I feel you, bud. It's funny that most pre-orders arrive during the Holiday Season, when credit card bills go on on a 12-month high each year and that's for home expenses alone.

Congrats on the Batman bust! I always keep an eye out for that one. Hard to find a good deal on him so if you see one with a price like that you have to grab it.

I just sold my Batman Bust today. It was such a shame to let him go but I just didn't have the space for it. Plus my wife hated it so at least someone was happy to see it go

He's a Chinese businessman living in Manila. He's a collector/reseller, also a Rolex dealer and buyer of old coins. He's shown me photos of his Hot Toys and PF collection. He says he gets his HTs and PFs from HK where he gets them cheaper. Told me he's just not happy with the paintjob on Superman, like he was bothered by the small red stain on the Batman bust, and he re-ordered another pair which he now has on display

Return/exchange might not be an option as shipping these busts for returns might cost a lot, but his not hiring someone to touch them up also baffles me. I can guarantee that these are not recasts, though. I already got the Batman bust he was selling. It has the art box, and has all the printed details at the bottom of the base, the number consistent with what's written on the box. I'm yet to see a recast that would count as a complete imitation with the print at the bottom of the base as well as ES number.

Who knows then. Wouldn't be that hard to fake the box too, but you never see them go to that much trouble.

Can't blame you guys for doubting. At $400 for a bust that now goes for more than its SRP of $680, I had the same thoughts too, that's why I insisted that we meet up instead of him shipping the bust to me.

Box looks legit. The styrofoam inside has the laser-cut SSC emblem. Paintjob is as what I've seen on the the Batman busts displayed at the authorized SSC dealer, and the print at the bottom of the base is clean and authentic-looking as well.

I'd say if what I have on my shelf is an imitation, then it's an unbelievable copy of what an authentic SSC Batman bust would be like.

I guess the only way to find out is to see if anyone else owns a #995/1500.
