Agreed. That's damn cheap for something this pricey and with this pedigree.

Between being hollow, the paint problems/recall and Batman's eyes being about 7 yards apart I'm glad I skipped this one, even though a 1:1 Batman bust was at the top of my wishlist.

I would have agreed with you on the eyes until I saw actual in hand pictures.

The eyes are actually set nicely apart but the original sideshow pictures have a weird shadow that lays across the thinner eye slit making it seem farther apart and smaller than they actually are.

Sucks about the moisture for you all. As a whole though this bust looks pretty awesome outside of that issue.

Haha good post. I think it must be slow news day over at the Hot Toys nit pick threads so they've migrated over here.
Trust me, in person this bust is stunning. Shame it leaks oil like a DX Batman :(

I still can't wait to get this. Not that I have a choice, it was my first ever order thru a retailer and I paid in full already.

it is a great job, as soon as they found out they took steps to fix the problem. I'm not sure what they could have done differently :dunno

Agreed. So happy SS jumped on this immediately. Great job on their part. It is very hard to fathom that these issues exist with collectibles that are so expensive. I think someone mentioned something about a car and QC/manufacturing issues, but I dont think this is an apples to apples comparison.

Quality control is quality control it's the organizations responsibility to establish QC guideline and uphold them strictly in order to prevent recalls. QC issues lead to unsatisfied customers and a negative economic impact. As for me this issue will most likely sway me to not reorder the bust. Bring on the PF
QC issues is now becoming common with SSC

Great display you got there Wanderer. Look at the size of that thing compared to Bermejo's B&W. Such an amazing looking piece. Congrats on getting the unmoisturized version! :hi5:

Their always brilliant customer serice notwithstanding, It's not a great job by SSC at all. Their QC has been found wanting waaay before this situation arose, it's just another example of how bad they are during the manufacturing process. The guy I'm in contact with pretty much identified the issue stemmed from the their operation in China. It's funny that they themselves know the problem which rears its head time after time but they make no effort of address it...

so what should Sideshow have done? Stationed a man in the cargo container with the busts to monitor moisture levels?

Send a guy to your house with each purchase for a year to monitor the bust/statue/figure for possible paint cracks, leaks, or other paint issues? :dunno

The factory could've packaged the busts before they were ready. Maybe they should've put those little package of pellets that come in shoe boxes for moisture.
