Just got off the phone with my retailer who said they talked to Sideshow and they are holding their shipment as well to check all the statues. If they have good ones they will send them out otherwise he was told they are repainting all the damaged ones....... Not sure how I feel about that.

These in-hand pics look great. May have to sell off some things in order to get this, but I think it'll be worth it.

My guess and this is what will be done is the factory will replace the damaged cargo or batch of Batman for SS. Its a whole
full container and had water damage upon arrival

Here's the email I got for my bust which was in transit to arrive today but was recalled.

The Customer Service staff at Sideshow Collectibles wanted to update you on your order for the Batman Life-sized bust. Since this is our first DC release, we wanted to make sure that everything was as perfect as possible for our collectors and therefore put the piece through additional quality control. We did QC inspections in China and again with the first shipment into our warehouse. What we discovered was an unusual amount of moisture within the shipping container that adversely affected the product. Unfortunately, your item was mistakenly shipped during the review process. Therefore we have rerouted the bust back to us. As such, you may receive email tracking information that displays activity of 'Returning Package to Shipper' or 'Unable to Deliver Package.'

We are going to have to go back and re-manufacture the pieces that shipped first. We do not want to inconvenience you by holding your payment during this time so we will be refunding your payment in full and will reprocess your order when the new busts arrive. There is no need for you to do anything. We will email you an update on the status of the new Batman busts within a few weeks but we expect the replacement pieces to take several months to reach us.

We dislike conveying disappointing news to collectors and hope that you understand that as collectors ourselves we want to make sure that this item is everything you imagined it would be. There's nothing like opening your package and yelling 'Holy C@#%! That's Cool!" As a token of our appreciation for your patience and understanding, we'll be applying a $15 shipping credit to your account that you can use toward the Batman bust or another future order.

Apologies for the need to send this email but we value the relationship we have with each and every one of our collectors.

Best Regards,

Yeah I got the same e-mail recently. It's weired cause
My bust is still here in NJ with fed ex schedule for
The 28 looks like he might not make it to my house :(

Yeah that sucks I was suppose to get my bust today and then while out for delivery an exception came up "return to shipper" I would have liked to have seen the bust maybe it would turn out fine now we have to wait till Winter most likely. It took forever to get a replacement rogue pf just for the heads. The green goblin bust was also pushed back till Jan 2013 when it was suppose to come out in Aug'12

One of the "good" things to come out of this fiasco is I was wondering how I was gonna pay for this next month as well as my Skaar ex :panic: Now I have some breathing room :yess: My Joker EX being pushed back to august helped as well cuz that hit I took in May when my Cap life sized bust came in is still hurting my wallet :slap Still the greatest hobby ever though :)

Ha! Got the same email. Gonna give my BB a once over to make sure I've not missed anything :/ What a monumental ____ up by Sideshow here... FairPlay for sending these emails but still......

Edit I've just checked the top of his head and there's dots of oil that's appeared. :monkey4 Well pissed off.

Anyone know of the long term effects this'll have on the paint job??

Just to be safe you should send it back and get a bust with no issues even if you have to wait a couple of months. IMO I would not be happy with dots of oil on a bust I paid over $500 those dots may end up bubbling up in the future

Well I've emailed Mike with pics of the oil spots and told him point blank im not prepared to ship this back across the pond as i dont have the resources or time so it's over to SS and their much hyped customer service to sort this out...
____ happens but this is annoying the life out of me and sadly another example of their QC issues with China...
Watch this space for the destruction vid :/
