They'll be worshiping something, alright. But it won't be false gods.

Nah, I think they were correct in giving the Batsymbol #1. Not only is it a part of his uniform but the thing literally lights up the sky every night he's needed. It's all over the place, the hero, his stuff, sky signals, etc., and has a much stronger real world media presence.

Superman might be close, but the S is no Bat.

See, I feel like, as far as iconic symbols go, Superman beats Batman because it isn't constantly being reinvented. The black on yellow Batman logo kind of loses its significance when it's competing with the sharp and angular Nolan Batman symbol or the black comic/Arkham symbol, whereas Superman's logo pretty much stays the same, and, in a lot of ways, I feel that strengthens the brand. You think of iconic images, and, while Batman's is definitely up there (the aforementioned black on yellow being the most widely known), it's like Superman, the Golden Arches from McDonald's, and, maybe, the Nike swoosh.

Yeah, #1 and #2 should switch places, Superman's S is borderline universal.

Yea I would top it with Superman.

:exactly:

I can see that, but I feel that the Bat logo design isn't as consistent as the "S."

Pretty much every list I've read except that one has Superman as #1, that logo goes beyond just pop culture, Superman is the most well known Superhero, not the most popular, but the most well known, and so is his logo.

I don't buy it. Show me someone who says, "Superman I know, but Bat who?" If you know one you know the other. Everybody knows Superman, everybody knows Batman. But Batman's logo is almost a brand unto itself. It's way more integrated into not just his outfit but all of his gadgets, including the Batsignal. Superman just has the chest emblem and as an icon just hasn't remained as relevant as Batman, particularly over the last three decades.

The only time I find superman interesting as a character is when you are reading through Batmans perspective and he makes superman sound like a badass, in hush for example. Or when they're in a movie together. :yess:

Regardless who is 1 or 2, DC wins. :lol

On the Marvel side regular people only know Spider-Man and that Hulk is green. :lol

Yep.

Superman
Batman
Spider-Man
Hulk
Wonder Woman

DC has 3 of the top 5. It's pretty surprising that we haven't seen a live-action WW since the 70's. Marvel was lucky to strike that deal with Sony, up to now they've only had one top 5 character in their entire cinematic universe.

I think for the most part WW was never taken seriously. The TV show really isn't that good. And I never cared for the character until the Justice League cartoon.

The Catwoman flick is Capt's equivalent. :lol
