I don't know man. Apart from Scarecrow, those figures weren't very good IMO.

COOL TOY REVIEW: Cool Toy Review Photo Archive

Maybe the business of the Nolan Batsuits hid the fact that they were kind of mediocre toys, or at least, pretty status quo for what you'll find for kids at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us nowadays.

COOL TOY REVIEW

They look better in hand. The Joker was not the best but the second version was a bit better. The thugs, Batman, and Scarecrow were nice looking, by 2008 standards. Especially if you compare them to other companies like Neca, making statues. Even HT sucked back in 2008.

It's a major step down from the 2008 The Dark Knight movie masters figures.

That's because the Movie Masters line was new and they actually had the 4 Horsemen sculpting the figures.

Those were the first press images of the figures like these Batman v Superman prototypes. The final production figures were shoddy (mostly the paint), but you could tell their sculpting team went above and beyond with the detail. Underneath the paint was a decent Ledger, Bale and Batman likeness.

This Affleck Batman looks like a cartoon, really soft and poorly painted eyes. It's not far from their 5" line from that same year, just with more joints.

Yeah, the movie masters line took a huge leap in quality from the 2005 Batman Begins figures.

Unfortunately, Mattel never got better. TDKR figures Batman was a repaint of a 5 year old figure with shiny paint and lower quality plastic. :gah:

You're posting pics of the 3.75" scale too though, the 6" line was good all the way to TDKR, save for Bane.

Even the MoS line was kind of ok, which is where that Superman comes from, just a new head, but that new Batman, ew.

3.75'' scale? Are you talking about Difabio's pics? Anyway, the paint was better on the 2008 line, imo. The MOS figures aren't terrible, but they cost twice as much as the 2008 TDK figures, and the quality is more or less the same, no improvement.

Which new ones?
The ones in the promo picture you linked above. We haven't had a chance to see them in-hand yet. One other thing about these is that they look like production figures, and not painted prototypes. That makes them look worse than most figures newly solicited do. But putting that aside, I think we're all in agreement that these new ones don't look very good.

That's what I'm saying though, the Affleck Batman toy looks like the little figures Mattel did. Here's a good example, their recent Keaton 3 3/4 inch Batman from the first film. This came out last year. It's not a very good figure, but it was also small.

This BvS figure is 6" and looks just as simple/plain.
