I understand it was said that there would be a lot of Batman in this movie however if the movie ends up being close the the three hour run time that's still a lot of time to fit Superman in. I'd rather see more Batman but I'm sure there willl be enough Superman in it for the fans.

I don't think it will be that long. They want to make money. The shorter the movie, the more they can show it per day. So 3 hours isn't an option, unfortunately. It will be around 2h 15 I guess.

Of course this is the height of subjectivity, but the consensus among geek film fans is that the 3rd movie can't touch the first two, so I'm not sure if most of that group would agree with your appraisal. Sure, the first two films had flaws as almost all films do. But they weren't distracting or baffling at times on the same order as Rises. To me, that's certainly the case.

I'm definitely in this camp. Rises is so bad when compared to BB and TDK that I can't believe all 3 films were directed by the same man.

Stay at home then... MoS my favourite CBM and I loved every minute. BvS won't be long enough for me! :wink1:

I'd have said the same three weeks ago. But now that it's been admitted that Supes is getting a smaller part, it's going to feel very long indeed. I love Batman, but I'm getting Batman overdose and feel a bit pissed since Supes has always been my favorite of the two...:(

I recalled Snyder stating that heavy focus was only being placed on Batman in the beginning to set up his character within the DCEU and that towards the middle things become pretty even as far as screen time is concerned. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

While I don't feel that TDKR is an overall bad film, I definitely consider it The Godfather 3 of the series. Its presence does taint the overall series to a degree, TDK in particular and raised more questions. Again Rises wasn't a bad film but it did convince me that Nolan was creatively depleted as far as Batman was concerned. I was also relieved that he was finally finished as each installment kept getting more and more grounded to the point that it no longer was enjoyable as far as I was concerned.

****ing Costner, man. They had such amazing casting and they have to play it like he's possessed by the spirit of an angsty 15-year old. "None of it matters, Clark. Everybody dies; they just were going away a little sooner."

Costner was the titular 'Man of Steel' - a hard man doing everything he could to protect his son, even to the point of giving his life. It's a severely under-rated role.

The true parent mentality of protecting your son no matter what.

Well, I think there is a lot to worry about!

First because Snyder has just been using a politically correct way of announcing it so far. He's obviously being told to add more Bats and has to suck it up. Then, there was this new bit of news that came a few days ago. At the beginning, this movie wasn't said to be MOS 2 but a prologue to JLA. You'll notice that a MOS 2 was roughly talked about but not scheduled. And the other day, Snyder officially announced it as being MOS2, meaning this will probably be the last in the series. An there's also a rumor that Bats will make a cameo in every DC movies!

Sorry, but, to me, that doesn't bode very well for a Superman fan! The movie being high jacked, no announcement for a sequel in the schedules... Smells like they're burying the character to me. It's obvious that in the past twenty years, DC has been unable to handle the character. He is too clean for a gritty audience.

The true husband mentality too. "Till death do us part" and all that...
And the true suicidal deviant mentality, too.

Sorry, but, to me, that doesn't bode very well for a Superman fan!
Well in fairness, nothing the Snyderverse has proposed has been good for Superman fans yet. So, the best we can hope for is that they minimize the damage they do by cutting his screen time until someone who actually understands and respects the character and his fans gets brought on board.

Costner's death should have been a recurring gag like the cow in Twister.

"Hey is that someone else's pa?"

"No it's yours again."

Every time Costner flies past he gives yet another solemn salute.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then. I certainly hope that the studios meddling will not sideline such a prominent character as Superman. However it's still a bit early in the game to be concerned, we'll just have to see how the DCEU unfolds given the many conflicting rumors we've heard.

I'll probably go to see this at the theater, but I'm not chomping at the bit to do so like I was with the Nolan films. I was more excited for Avengers 2, which I wasn't very excited about in itself.
