I love the whole trilogy, there all terrific. I think people are just annoyed by bold choices, which is ashame.

I honestly think if Ledger didn't pass away we'd have a much better sequel, even though the one we got was good.

My only negatives was how the story came down to the time bomb cliché.

It's really weird, because TDKR is the movie that reconciled me with the whole Nolan saga. It's flawed, but if you look at its predecessors, they are equally flawed and full of nonsensical bits here and there. I don't think that people are truly being honest there.
Of course this is the height of subjectivity, but the consensus among geek film fans is that the 3rd movie can't touch the first two, so I'm not sure if most of that group would agree with your appraisal. Sure, the first two films had flaws as almost all films do. But they weren't distracting or baffling at times on the same order as Rises. To me, that's certainly the case.

I wish TDK had a scene that went something like this:

Bruce: "Time to pay a little visit to that Joker weirdo."

Alfred: "Wait, hold on." *runs to computer* "Okay I just googled 'joker' he's definitely odd but yeah go ahead and trifle away."

You're probably right, but I think that people expected maybe too much from the sequel. That's always the way it is! The next movie has to be better. From my standpoint, I guess my reaction to TDKR is because my initial reaction to TDK was one of rejection. I didn't like it. Well, I did, but I just thought it wasn't the gem some people were saying it is.
So I watched TDKR with no expectations, or rather negative one, at all.
... And I loved it. So much so that I had to watch the others two with a fresh look. And the unity of the trilogy radically changed my opinion of the other movies. I think it's a great achievement from Nolan. So yeah, it's not always canon, and there are some questionable choices here and there. But all in all, envisioned as a whole, I can't find many faults to blame on any of the movies! Not a feat that Snyder is likely to pull off!

The Dark Knight Rises is the gay marriage of comic book movies. Most people are cool with it, but the few who hate it ***** so much that they make it seem like they have the majority opinion.

BB/TDK are masterpieces when compared to TDKR.

Nothing genuine about TDKR, it was Nolan forcing himself just for money post Ledger and favor/ass kissing/loyalty to WB.

My gay cat is more menacing than midget Bane with funny voice.

Da Bat :yuck

The action scenes were laughably bad.

I took so much flak for saying it when it came out but I stick by it today. Forgetting even the plot, The Dark Knight Rises is far and away Nolan's most technically flawed movie and you can tell his heart was not in it. The amount of people who just fall down without actually being punched, the continuity errors, they're everywhere.

Nolans strengths was never in action. I feel he improved in many ways for TDKR, other than the goofs it's well shot unlike previous In the trilogy.

I do agree its his most sloppy movie. Inception was so beautifully thought out his previous two movies don't compare

I agree, this [TDKR] was a horrible portrayal of Bane from costume to actor. While I think Hardy is talented, this was a Nathan Jones' role all day long :lecture

I do think that the whole scene where Blake explains that he figured out his identity was the goofiest in the movie.

"The way you looked at us, I'd seen that look before, I instantly knew who you were." Huh? I almost expected Peter Venkman to show up and say, "You're right Blake, no human being would look at orphans that way."

And then Bruce is all, "Hmm, you guessed my identity. Okay you're Batman now."

Blake: "Wait...wut?"

That part was just so damn stupid. You looked in his eyes and saw he was batman? Then the use your real name robin **** at the end made me want to throw up.
Walking into the theater I knew that tdkr wouldn't be as good as the others but still.
