I hope movie theaters never go away, no matter how big the screen is in my home, there's something magic about seeing a great movie n the theater.

Yup. Spot on. Nothing beats uncomfortable seats, overpriced food and drinks, sticky floors riddled with popcorn and soda, the dramatic range of temperatures from freezing to hot, the ignorant movie goers, or the drive to get there.

What do you expect for $7 dollars? :lol

:rotfl

Yep, there's a reason the tickets are so cheap.

I'm lucky, I have two amazing theaters within 15 minutes of my home. Never had a problem with idiots in those theaters and the seats there are extremely big and comfortable. People are also respectful enough to dump their own garbage in the trash receptacle so the floors are never sticky. As for over priced food, that's easy to circumvent if you need to, but I don't mind supporting the theater.

I live in a 3rd world country and my experience is the polar opposite :lol

I didn't know ticket prices are relatable to the temperatures, the drive to get there, the people watching, the overpriced food which is at every theater or even the conditions of the floor. I forgot how perfect your theater is though. I am sure you never saw a single popcorn kernel on the floor or any spilled drinks. I bet every single person ever was the nicest, kindest, most respected being you could think of. Yes....... so perfect. I bet not one single complaint has ever crossed your mind regarding anything of the above. I bet the same goes for everyone here as well.

I've had plenty of bad experiences at theaters, but not those 2 theaters, they really strive to make the experience a good one for the customer. The theaters I had bad experiences in, I don't go back to. Simple as that.

In my experience, the theaters with the cheap prices are that way cause it's the only way to get people to come there, either the experience at that theater is sub par, or the populace doesn't have the means to pay the standard ticket price, cause trust me, if the theater could stay afloat and charge $12 a ticket, they would.

Man that's weird, everything here is more expensive than in the US because of the import costs and because everything is tied to the dollar.

But movies, that's really cheap here, most theaters' ticket price is around $5 USD and you get nice clean floors, a comfortable seat, most of the time a pleasant temperature, although it can get a little cold at times... Nobody claps, almost nobody is a ******. Sure people will LOL and stuff, but they don't scream at the screen or anything.

Overall 2 tickets with popcorn and drinks for around $15 USD.

Hey, Puerto Rico is not a 3rd world country, man....it's not even a real country :lol ;)

The popcorn alone is $5.50 at local theater....and that's the regular size, not the big bucket.

And just like you..... I to have good theaters and bad.

I just rather watch movies in the comfort of my own home. Don't have to drive, can eat what I want, comfortable seating (can lay down, stretch out, get a pillow, etc...), only people I like and know watch, all at the perfect temperature of my choice.....

I rather pay $30 to watch at home than $14 for a couple of tickets to the good theater.

Do they show only new films or do they also show older films like Cantinflas and local films?
No old films at all, it's a pain in the *** to find theaters that show old movies, in Guadalajara there's only 2 I know of, one is managed by my university and the other one is a small hipster place.

And big theater chains almost never do that, they did a classics marathon once, I don't remember the theme but I was able to see The Shinning and Taxi Driver on the big screen, it was awesome.

You like Cantinflas huh? :duff

I'm pretty choosy about what I see in the theater, more because as a father I don't get a lot of opportunities, but tomorrow I will get a chance to go solo, and ill be seeing The Witch.

There are advantages to viewing at home, but for me, I love the theater going experience. Sorry it's not so good for you. If its that bad, maybe you should skip seeing BVS, it will be on home video soon enough.

I'm also a dad and the last movie I saw in theaters was Winter Soldier. That was a solo experience for me and I'm guessing Civil War will be one as well.
