Are we certain the dream sequence was with flash? Someone mentioned it could have been robin...

Nah we're ok with spoilers, the film's out, at this point is fair game imo.

About the future vision, Robin doesn't have a lighting bolt on his chest and isn't Ezra Miller. Also, Robin doesn't travel in time.

Kinda pisses me off how these movies handle Superman/Clark Kent.

Henry Cavill isn't the greatest actor, but damn, I know there is a good Superman in there. Have you guys seen him in interviews and stuff, how energetic and well spoken he is? He's got that charming smile too. Remember the end of Man of Steel with that positive and upbeat Clark? What happened to that? Even the "you're kinda hawt" scene had a Superman with potential for humor and wit.

Why do they insist on making Superman so dour and speechless? We experienced that with Man of Steel already. In the African scene, he looks like a straight up demented psycho when he crashes down through the ceiling. How about instead of having him angrily smash the terrorist through the wall, he subdues the guy in a humorous way? I'm not saying he needed to say some Marvel-ite cheesy quip, but this guy has it all and can do anything. Why make him such a brooding bore? Batman is the one that is tortured, Superman doesn't need to be. I can understand scenes like the Congress hearing where he looks sad and disappointed that everyone in the room died because of Luthor's bomb. That's an intense and sad moment for the character, but he's like this throughout the whole movie! You can tell his direction is to be as menacing and unhappy as possible and it's just awful.

The way they play that scene when Superman rips off the top canopy of Batman's Batmobile is terrible. They play it so straight with that stupid bombastic, "epic" music, and they're both so stiff and serious that, to me, it's unintentionally hilarious. They're both so goofy. The dialogue is awful too and Superman is acting ********. Superman looked like he just smelled a fart or dirty socks or something throughout that scene. How about during the Batmobile chase, the Batmobile is suddenly lifted up and Batman starts looking confused/worried as he pushes on the gas pedal and realizes he's stopped and doesn't have any control. Then it's revealed that Superman lifted him up and moved him away from the chase to a different location. That would be so much better than that awkward scene where Superman is standing there in the middle of the road like a zombie or a freak and lets Batman hit him. Then how about instead of Superman ripping off Batman's doors, you have him tap/knock on the window, smiling like "yeah, I got ya mother ****er, you're done". Have Superman treat Batman like this little child, scolding him instead of that weird dialogue with the bad accent that Superman has. You should put Batman in a position of humility and Superman knowing this. Have Superman joke with him about how powerless he is or something. Instead of that cringey, redundant dialogue have him say "if they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it, you're done Bruce. Last warning" all cool and calmly. If you changed the tone to that scene and started with something funny on Superman's part, it would have played so much better. Could have worked. Batman should be the only angsty, pissed off character in that scene.

Damn sign me up for that scene you just described, it captures both characters perfectly.

Hurts to read something like that then go back to what they gave us.

Great job.

The only thing that seperates them is Superman's super abilities, other than that they're clones now.

Hell, they even have mothers with the same name. :lol

People have this nostalgia for the old or like this movie supposed to cater to everyone. This is not a comic book series that run for years and years. This is not a Marvel movie, thank god. They're not going to do Nolan's Batman again, but this Frank Miller Batman is the best so far.
Bruce did his investigating at the fight scene/bar scene and hack the Russian guy's phone; that's how he was able to rescue Martha so fast. He investigated Lex and got his files. The Batman stood up to Superman as the title of this movie is about. Superman is an alien, along with his people, his fault or not, destroyed a good chunk of the city as well as other parts of the world; a being who is seemingly invincible, who damaged his vehicle, and tell him to stand down. Of course Batman is going to stand up to him. Superman didn't do his homework, buys into The Batman's public persona, and pass judgment as judge and jury. Batman had to be an executioner. He is more Batman than Bruce and won't allow any one to stop him. Only when his mother got kidnapped that he came to Batman, with his tail between his legs, asking for help. With all his power he fail to rescue Martha.
People who clings to the past and expect this movie to be made based on a certain rules/guideline are wrong. Things change and even the comics change like the New 52. They'll miss out on new things as the world is all about changing.

Looking forward to WW and eventually JL.

Yes, this Batman is definitely my favorite. He's not a definitive Batman, cause he's a little more unhinged, but I can definitely see Batfleck being the definitive Batman in earlier years, before he went full Miller. Maybe his solo movie can deliver that, but hands down best Batman as it is.

Yeah this isn't Marvel- it's deeper. Faults or not it deals with far bigger issues on what if superheroes existed than any Marvel film- those are glossed over , totally resisting any connection with aftermath of humanity's contact with aliens other than Tony being all weirded out about almost being blown up over New York city- !!

I doesn't top Bale for me, but I thought he was great. I definitely think after a Solo Batman flick That he directs, he'll have a chance to really showcase himself as batman.

I just watched a ****** screener that leaked out, god dammit now I wonder how much it would've improved to have Joaquin Phoenix as Luthor, he would've been perfect, why did he reject the part? :slap

Oh, and to whoever asked, the Batmobile doors are indeed gone when Bats returns to the cave.

I don't think he topped Bale either but then again Bale had 3 dedicated Batman movies, Affleck had half a movie so give it time and he probably will surpass him.

I will have to agree with spindrift, MOS-BvS has probed Alien life and Super Beings deeper than the MCU has so far.

Thanos = lolcat

I doubt it, Cavil posted a pic of him training for JL Part 1.

this photo was from BvS era, he poster that he started workout and should return this form. yesterday I watched interview where he is saying that he signed for 3 films (yet) , JL without Supes? I don't think so. so I think I should be relaxed. as he also talking that they are starting shooting in April.

JUSTICE LEAGUE starts shooting in 2 weeks. Cavill is in it.

Man, the Marvel hate is strong here. I get not liking them, I don't care much for the majority of them (TWS, IM and GotG are the only ones I really like), but why bring them up constantly? This is the BvS thread, not the "Diss Marvel" thread. Besides, Daredevil and Jessica Jones put the pseudo-intellectual and semi-theological "debates" to shame. Daredevil tackled religion better and Jessica tackled the darkness inside better. I think we're all mature adults here and have moved past the "my dad can beat up your dad" debates...

Now, I appreciate what they tried to do, I do. Key word here is "tried", to make a "deeper" movie that is. Good ideas, but the muddled script and direction ruined them for me. Superman's role was a perfect plot point, but it got, for the most part, glossed over, and the people changed their views far too quickly. Not to mention the whole Day of the Dead sequence was cringy as hell. Batman's scenes worked, but my guess is because Affleck touched them. Luthor's speeches about God, mortallity and all that got lost amongst his quirks and lost their gravitas.

All I'm saying is, it's ok if you like it, I do too. I really do and I'm excited for the future of the DCEU. But please, don't diss other movies, even if you don't like them, in order to boost up your morale and feel superior by liking a "deeper" film. For example, Sandman and Transmetropolitan are deep comics. They tackle sensitive issues, but they don't lose all their joy and character in the process. Meanwhile, The Boys is a bunch of pretentious ******** (even though I like it in a guilty pleasure sort of way). See where I'm going with this?

I too still like Bale over Affleck. I think Affleck has a real shot at overtaking Bale though if given a solo movie or two.

One thing I haven't seen yet is complaints over
the lack of Batman's involvement in the Doomsday fight. Really he just grappled away from him and then stands back while Wonder Woman/Superman fights him. Then shoots DD and that is that. DC basically established Batman as the most powerful superhero in the universe after defeating Superman. I think he should have played a bigger role in the DD fight somehow. Whether that be with the Armored Suit or just grappling onto Doomsday and dealing damage. I still liked the fight, but would be nice to see if Batman had a bigger role in the final fight on the director's cut.
