Lex was a big surprise for me- didn't care for him in the trailers but after seeing the film he actually was creepy deep menacing to me....it worked

Anyone noticed that secret base didn't have a DC party for this movie, yet they always do for Marvel flicks?

Martian Man Hunter needs to be in the future movies

From what I'm reading, its not really hate. It is valid criticism when most here agree that the plot was a mess. No fluid build up. Other than that, best Batman, best Superman, best Batman fights, cool looking Aquaman. Wonder Woman was ok.

But he'll be some wanted criminal, instead of a legit business man who gets away with murder or runs for president.

He will be "reformed", fool everybody and become president.

:lol realistic tone. Based on what we know at this time 6 of the 7 are presumed.....I hope GL makes the cut

But the tone is somewhat realistic, the world is, the superheroes aren't but the world is very much realistic.

I gotta say FAR FAR more realistic than the Oz world of MCU!

I guess I don't follow......Pa Kent ghost, zombie Superman, boundless destruction yet Gotham and Metropolis showed no signs of the carnage that happened less then two years prior. How is that more realistic? I get some of the relationships especially in the new film drawn out much like DD series but I still fail to see a big difference. Not that I'm a fan girl of either, I take them in the world they want to create for me....

What part of the superheroes aren't realistic but the world is, is hard to understand? :lol Zombie Superman is part of that unrealism that comes with the character, and Pa Kent was a memory, not a ghost, wow :lol none of that is world though.

Boundless destruction? In this one they went out of their way to make it clear the destruction was minimal and/or contained, and, in heroes park, you can see there's god knows how many blocks without a single building surrounding "ground zero" and why would there be carnage in Gotham from what happened in MoS?

No, this is definitely a realistic world, the destruction wrought heavy consequences, Superman's arrival made the world go ape**** like I believe it would if something similar were to happen irl, it doesn't mean that everything is going to be ultra realistic, but at least the world is.

It is all contained in their world....but if we are talking world being anything outside of characters then the destruction in the first film was catastrophic ....

The new film was decent enough to recap at the beginning for those of us who didn't visit MoS after its first run. the kryptonian ship leveled well more then a few blocks around a park....Bruce drove quite awhile within destruction to get near his Wayne building which was still a ways away when it collapsed. Add the damage the thing that used energy or whatever to pound the ground. I guess the attempt to make a few blocks around the main battle scene makes it realistic. You say so chief..

Batman brought Doomscycle back into the city to get the sphere......so while pieces were contained not all was contained. after all the death and destruction an alien brought to the world people celebrated him.....ok...that I can believe because people are sheep.

Just watched this last night... took a few hours to let things settle in.

Some thoughts:
  • This movie suffers from the same issues that plagued TASM2 and AoU - Too many characters, too many things going on at once while trying to set up the next set of movies.
  • There were a lot of great storylines in this film that were not fleshed out further because again, they tried to fit too many things into one movie. It almost feels like they are rushing to catch-up with MCU's fleshed-out world (something Sony attempted to do with TASM).
  • I loved Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, but I feel like she did not need to be in this film. I do not think she added any value to the story.
  • The Batman vs Superman part of the film felt superficial to me. If Batman were a bit smarter, this fight would not have happened. But it happened, and it was an awesome fight.
  • They continued the MoS storyline well. I wish they dove a bit more into this.
  • The characters deviate quite a bit from their comic book counterparts, especially Batman I think.
  • Affleck was a really good Batman/Wayne.
  • The intros to the other heroes were weird.
  • Lex Luthor will be divisive I think. I kinda like that this is a disturbed version of him, like he was really capable of doing some really twisted things. But I still see too much Mark Zuckerberg in him.

I don't think the movie sucked, but I really think it would have been better if they split the storylines up to several movies instead of cramming everything into this one movie. Things felt a bit rushed and I found myself emotionally detached towards the end. I just couldn't find a reason to root for any of them.
