The new film was decent enough to recap at the beginning for those of us who didn't visit MoS after its first run. the kryptonian ship leveled well more then a few blocks around a park....Bruce drove quite awhile within destruction to get near his Wayne building which was still a ways away when it collapsed. Add the damage the thing that used energy or whatever to pound the ground. I guess the attempt to make a few blocks around the main battle scene makes it realistic. You say so chief..
But I didn't say a few blocks, I said god knows how many. You could see construction cranes on top of buildings in and out of heroes park.

Batman brought Doomscycle back into the city to get the sphere......so while pieces were contained not all was contained.
But that part of the city was abandoned, it's the first thing Batman says. ???

after all the death and destruction an alien brought to the world people celebrated him.....ok...that I can believe because people are sheep.
Yeah, people where 50/50 on Supes, until he saved the day AGAIN, with his life this time no less, you'd think that'd tip the scale in his favor at least a little, yeah, that's not realistic at all, in a world where one second people hate you and the next they love you, or viceversa, we know people aren't fickle as ****, right? :lol

Hell, one quick sweep over an African country in conflict and it creates a huge international incident, with people throwing terrorist threats vs Superman, yeah, how very unrealistic :lol

I have to doubt Doomsday would have just sat quietly on Stryker's Island and waited for the fight to come to him. I saw Batman as leading him to an abandoned section of Gotham as a better option than letting him return to Metropolis. They obviously went out of their way to let us know it was abandoned as opposed to the final battle in MOS.

Snyder going to change his distractors- they will wear down and see the light that is JL:lol

I don't think the movie sucked, but I really think it would have been better if they split the storylines up to several movies instead of cramming everything into this one movie. Things felt a bit rushed and I found myself emotionally detached towards the end. I just couldn't find a reason to root for any of them.[/QUOTE]

I agree. I think it was a little better then MoS but still a Snyder super visual disjointed story movie. I am much more excited about Suicide Squad because David Ayer is a solid story teller. My frustration was the jumping around from storyline to storyline like I had ADD. Wonder Woman was awesome. Batfleck was an awesome Wayne and solid Batman. The intro of the other JL members was rather odd though. Hey let's just have us find a file and view a few youtube clips. Weird. My only hope is they turn Justice League over to a new director and let Snyder Ex Produce and be the visual guy.

Gotcha....... I view "world" differently. It being made up of the complete environment including character versus separating character from surrounding to each their own. Regarding fickle people... I read it daily with folks flip flopping back n forth trying to get with the popular opinion....no problem buying that logic at all..:)

I really liked the "messy" editing. Going from scene to scene felt like turning CB pages and made the first half engaging despite the amount of subplots and lack of action.

Lex was very interesting. His mannerisms are completely OTT ridiculous yet I didn't laugh because I felt that he's one crazy control freak who gets what he wants no matter what. He's this film's second gem.

Batman is the best part, of course. Great use of dream sequences to show how he's losing control, plunging into darkness and just doesn't care anymore. The "origin story" bein' part of these sequences was a brilliant move.

____

Several stupid flashbacks. Nothing major but still annoying.
Not enough dialogs between Alfred and Bruce.
Not enough dialogs between Clark and his mother.

____

The final "battle" was really boring.
Took too much screen time yet wasn't interesting in any way.
I'm seriously tired of cliched "government nuking the problem", it was completely unnecessary.
Speeking of, why the **** was Lois runnin' aroud that part? Absolute cinematic stupidity.
Terrible send off finale.

Lois was definitely forced in there because Supes and Lois needed a final "goodbye", could've done without it, but it was better than the MoS kiss.

That's why a separated character from world, they can go together of course, but in this case that's the point of the discussion, it was the first thing Snyder said, what would happen if these characters, fantastic as they are, arrived in our world as we know it, and they nailed that aspect, at least imo.

Well, yeah, people are like that, just one look at facebook to see it.

Riddick makes a good point about the pacing/editing/overabundance of subplots. While I feel it significantly detracted from the effectiveness of the overall narrative, it probably did make the movie less boring. But the same could probably be said for Age of Ultron. Amazing Spidey 2 was still fairly boring in parts despite this, so I guess it loses.

Yup, only he can save JL :lol

Either way, I'm ready for Snyder's JL
