I can't remember does Kryptonite work on Doomsday in the comic story?

No, it doesn´t. Since Doomsday was originally SOME Baby and not kryptonian. His original form was bought/aquired/call it what you want from this mad scientiest; Bertron and then being sent out to prehistoric Krypton and being ripped to shreds by it´s inhabiting creatures, remains were collected, cloned and the cycle began anew.

First every form of death worked on Doomsday, but after those thousands to tens of thousands of times cloning, the evolving factor kicked it. So even IF Kryptonite would´ve worked...it would have done so ONE. TIME. Afterwards it would´ve meant pain, but not death.

So if Doomsday from BvS is anything like the comic version and Snyder keeps his words, about exploring him and myths more then that was it.
Kryptonite spear was a one of and since it´s drawing from "the death of superman", then BOTH survived, with Doomsday only being in his "evolving stasis" and Superman truly dead for a time.

Even when a building explodes around him, killing everyone but him, he is just left standing there looking bummed out.

Sure, but BvS:piss Jar just continues the same Supes from MoS, so it shouldn't be a surprise, right?

The surprise was that the "versus" in the title was settled like this:

WB/DC better chain Snyder to a descending submarine if they ever want to see justice done to their IP in a live action film.

\/This costs a lot less than $200 million to produce yet it's 200 million times better than BvS:

:dunno

That's a cool fight, but notice how Sups is also a bit of a jerk and he destroys buildings and endangers people when he was fighting Green Lantern. Do that in a cartoon and people like it, but in a film, people have a problem with it :dunno I'll say this though, that Superman at least has a personality, unlike the robot from BVS. Even the Terminator has more of a personality and smiles....and he's a machine :lol

a knife wouldn't work on doomsday because he was a really big guy

for you

When Superman stabbed Doomsday it was instant penetration and there was no holding it near him for a long time for it to penetrate the skin, and Doomsday was much stronger than Sups. A Kryptonite bullet would and will always work against Sups.
It wasn't instant penetration teehee :lol he wasn't traveling nearly the speed a bullet is traveling, not even close, the fact that you could still see Superman flying should tell how much slower he was comparatively speaking, in fact, he was traveling much much slower than usual, probably because he was carrying the spear, not only that, Batman had used his last kryptonite grenade, not only that, it was a superficial wound, not until Superman was there for a while, after being stabbed himself, is that he could sink the spear all the way through.

Should we agree to disagree or should we take it to our thread? :lol

We're both speculating here, I'm just saying, we shouldn't presume to know more than the people who worked on the kryptonite, it's the "why didn't Zod terraform mars instead" all over again.
So which one of you wants to be Superman?

You know what Prince? That spear WAS pretty stupid now that I think about it......

:lol:lol

Don't forget Gaspar...you have Gaspar on your team.
Thank you :duff: you truly are the Joker to my Batman. :1-1:

:lol

That's right. :yess:
Hmmmm alright maybe the spear wasn't that stupid...

>Implying JL War is better than BvS in any way
:rotfl

I love that movie, it's a dumb fun movie, but even the Phantom Menace has a more solid plot.

I'm done talking about the spear...besides, you took too long :impatient:

Yea, this Supes was based off the "dude with an attitude" New 52 version of Supes when they just launched it. Since then, a bunch of sane writers have come in and righted that ship.

WB need to stop being *******. If they really want to go "dark" and "realistic", they need to make a movie with this guy....

I'm sure Marvel will let him go for a good price.

The dude with an attitude was only shown at the beginning of the JL series. I remember it was a regular complaint back then but I didn't see that in action comics, it was pretty much regular Supes, because it was Grant Morrison writing him, and in the Superman series he was just too actiony and a bit of a meathead, I don't remember any attitude either. I guess the character got that bad rap because of the JL Origin arc. Good thing the JL series got good and then great way too fast, because right now it's probably my favorite book.

I don't think so. They've been trying to get him for a long time now, what with the rights being muddled and all. I've not read the new Gaiman stuff yet because I've got no room in my pull (plus, these stories read better in trades), but I can't imagine a scenario where Marvel will let MiracleMan go. Besides, I think neither DC nor Marvel would put out a MiracleMan movie.

Operative word: fun. :lol

Warts and all, JL: War is simply more enjoyable than BvS: Piss Jar.

And "a solid plot?" THAT's suddenly become important criteria for you? :lol

What I wouldn't give to see Kid Marvelman murdering 40,000 people in London. Oh wait, MOS already happened....

dumb turn-your-brain-off fun is nice every now and then, better than BvS is not :lecture

It always is amigo, as important as dumb turn-off-your-brain fun is for you. :lol

Honestly, I don't think it'll ever happen. Same goes for other indie comics like say, Irredeemable. Too violent, too many similarities, etc, etc. But yeah, I'd love to see a MM movie.

There's a bunch of people who own the rights

I have no idea, I just know it's one of Millar's, and you know how Millar stuff is so popular and it's getting movies.

Both Superior and Nemesis were at one point supposed to be movies. Millar updates folks from time to time ala McFarlane, with the usual "we have a script, which is so awesome and we're gonna start shooting, like, next month or so" but nothing ever comes out of that. We'll see, what with Kingsman being made and all.

There's a bunch of people who own the rights

Marvel acquired them in 2013, along with Gaiman's Angela. They've been reprinting the old stuff for a while now, and are even having Gaiman complete his story.
