So that explains why Batman and Superman don't even talk to each other in the film...:slap Can't wait to see JL and watch all the characters use sign language to communicate because if they talk too much they'll look silly. Please WB, get rid of Snyder ASAP!! :gah:

Didn't they talk?

Superman: Marrr....tha....
Batman: WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!

:rotfl

Man, and I thought Nolan was bad when it came to superheroes and his obsession with believability and the real world. :lol

But man, the DCEU is like, the world as it is, man. Not sugar-coated BS, it's dark, broody and deals with the themes of today! Forget about kiddie-BS like GotG (which had far more emotional scenes, despite being a feel-good action comedy), it's time for the real heroes. Broken battered, real! These heroes have tragic pasts, complex motivations, and aren't just "good". They struggle and fight, even when they don't have to! Because we all know that depth = brooding...

Jesus, the more I hear about his vision, the more I dislike it. He hasn't said a single thing that made me go "hmm, yeah, I guess that explains it, cool". Sigh, let's just hope that SKWAD turns out good, after JL:p1 he's done, and Affleck takes over Batman. But if he's the Fiege of DC, woo boy, are we in for a treat!

Guys, Snyder is basically the modern day Ingmar Bergman, with all the rich philosophical sub-text in the movie. Don't criticize what you could never, ever possibly hope to understand.

More from Snyder on Secret Identities, JLA Symbols, and MOS 2:

"I didn't feel the need to explain how Lex figured out Batman and Superman's secret identities because the concept of secret identities is ridiculous."

"I kinda came to the conclusion also that they couldn't really talk in their suits, um, with any credibility..."

"... more than 4 or 5 lines and you start to notice, like wait, these are two guys ... one guys dressed up like a bat and the other has a big red 'S' on his chest, and they're being super serious about how mad they are at each other..."

Is he trying to get himself fired?

"I think if we can get a good script.."

Not having one never stopped him before.

Hey, less is more. Less thought, less effort, less logic, less respect, etc. . .I'm referring to the artwork in that picture only, of course.

On an entirely separate note, **** these comic book characters talking to each other on the screen. I only wanna see them knocking buildings down and whatnot.

It was so depressing seeing Superman in the movie. Dude looked liked saving people was such a hassle. But that's real life. When you see people feeding the homeless and outreach organizations helping the community, the people have such a painful look on their face. BvS = Real World

No way, I do not want to hang out in a thread where everyone feels and thinks the same way I do, that would get boring real fast!

If you told me that this thread would only be me, you, khev, Irish, Gaspar and batfan, well then how much fun would that be (there are more that liked this movie, right :lol).

It is very important to get opposing views especially with movies where it can actually be fun and rewarding, maybe even educational!

Opposing views from Clown, a-dev, Destro, Rory, DiFabio, crows and any other members who have something to share are what makes us see the entire picture instead of just our own narrow views!

Opposing views allows us to exercise and shape our own opinions.

Never just settle for a one sided view, you're doing yourself more harm than good.

Imagine if Clown didn't come here with his thoughts, we wouldn't have got his awesome sitting lolcat, and that would be just wrong! :lol

nope, this is WRONG! wrong wrong wrong wrong!!!
Clown needs to be Contained and silenced!!! he cant keep getting away with it!!!!

Well we know for a fact that Disney has paid off the critics to give this bad reviews. Wouldn't surprise me if they successfully infiltrated SSF, as well. A few careful bribes, a little blackmail here and there, and voila.

Now that you mention it Crows has been showing off many new expensive collectibles. :panic:

:lol :lol :lol

I think crows is even speaking highly of AOU now! :lol

i havent received anything but i actually live near disney world.....:horror :gah: :sick:sick
omg what if they are sending subliminal signals to my place!

Man, and I thought Nolan was bad when it came to superheroes and his obsession with believability and the real world. :lol

At least Nolan kept the characters in full costume and they all had plenty of dialogue with each other. Bane talking **** to Batman, the Joker and Bats having a conversation in the middle of the film while the "regular" people watch them, Joker dressed like a nurse having a meaningful conversation with Two Face, Batman and Cat Woman not just fighting together in full costume, but talking to each other a lot. And those films are supposed to be "grounded in reality." :lol

I refuse to believe he said that. He made Watchmen...and I know Watchmen is like a parody of certain characters, but still, it worked. I hope JL isn't just Bruce and Diana looking for people in their every day outfits. I mean, the whole point of bringing these characters together is to see these heroes interacting with each other...with dialogue, not just fighting.

Henry Cavill And Zack Snyder On Chances Of Another Standalone SUPERMAN Movie

TL;DR:

"I didn't feel the need to explain how Lex figured out Batman and Superman's secret identities because the concept of secret identities is ridiculous."

"I kinda came to the conclusion also that they couldn't really talk in their suits, um, with any credibility..."

"... more than 4 or 5 lines and you start to notice, like wait, these are two guys ... one guys dressed up like a bat and the other has a big red 'S' on his chest, and they're being super serious about how mad they are at each other..."

"I think if we can get a good script, it would be great to get a standalone Superman movie. I think that would be fun to do...Part of the reason we didn't announce a standalone superhero movie is to support some of the event of [Batman v Superman]. "

"I do believe it depends on the success of this movie. If this goes well then we can start to negotiate with Warner Bros. for a standalone Superman movie. But they've got their plans set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies, so it's about finding the time, really. It's something that I would be very keen to do."

"We're in the process of looking at that, but we don't have it on the schedule at the moment because we're quite busy with the movies that we have scheduled."
Those are very strange quotes if real. Zack actually came up with a cool voice modulator so that a famous billionaire could more believably conceal his voice...when in fact he really thinks that hiding his identity is "ridiculous?" That's weird.

And he "came to the conclusion" that the most bankable genre in film containing hours of costumed superheroes talking to each other each and every year...suddenly isn't credible unless the heroes just shut up and start fighting? Is this a joke?

"Ever since Batman 89, when Batman stopped committing murders, superhero movies have been on the wrong track. The only thing worse than secret identities is superheroes in costumes. I want to make things fun again, starting with the terrorist murder of Jimmy Olsen."

-Zack Snyder

"You're hired."

Batman talking with ra's al ghul both in full costume at the end of Batman Begins... I cant believe Snyder said that, might be fake

it's weird because how are they going to handle Justice League if characters talking to each other is unrealistic and ridiculous.

(How come Zod in his uniform talking to Superman was not ridiculous in Man Of Steel? they talked a lot.... wouldn't that be just as ridiculous as batman talking to superman? )

dont forget this little gem, Demon batman talking to a scared scarecrow lol...

Didn't they talk?

Superman: Marrr....tha....
Batman: WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!

:rotfl

You actually hear most of their dialogue in the trailers and tv spots :lol

Superman - Next time they shine your light, don't go to it. The Bat is dead, bury it. Consider this Mercy.

Batman- Tell me, do you bleed?

Batman- Well, here I am

Batman- You're not brave. Men are Brave. Breath it in, that's fear (or something like that)

Superman- Stay down, If I want it you be dead already

Superman- You have to save Martha

Batman- Why did you say that name? I won't let Martha die tonight.

Superman- Is she with you?

Batman- I thought she was with you.

Not having one never stopped him before.

True that.

Hey, less is more. Less thought, less effort, less logic, less respect, etc. . .I'm referring to the artwork in that picture only, of course.

Such paintings remind me of my favourite panel in all of comic-dom:

On an entirely separate note, **** these comic book characters talking to each other on the screen. I only wanna see them knocking buildings down and whatnot.

I know, right? I guess Snyder wanted to make a Hack n' Slash game with great graphics, but he forgot the player input.

It was so depressing seeing Superman in the movie. Dude looked liked saving people was such a hassle. But that's real life. When you see people feeding the homeless and outreach organizations helping the community, the people have such a painful look on their face. BvS = Real World

Just last week, I saw a guy with no arm and I like gave him some cash, you know? Being a "good" guy and all. And guess what? The liar spent it on meth man. Twas then that I realized, this was not the Kiddie-Verse, this was real life. Where everything is bleak, and awful and dark...

Kidding aside, the "gritty=realistic" argument never held any ground for me. I've been through some very tough situations multiple times, and I'm not talking about "oh no, we have to put a mortgage on the house" types. I'm talking about near-death accidents, illnesses and other such things. I'm not saying my life is the hardest out there, but I have some experience. And, guess what, I'm not brooding 24/7. Yeah, life's tough, and violent and at sometiems awful and sad. But not always and not forever. So yeah, when I go and see a super-hero film, and let's be real, this isn't Preacher, Hellblazer, Invisibles or Illuminati, this is Batman v ******* Superman, I expect some optimism and hope, even in small doses.

Well, you can go over the audio-track and hear it with your very own ears. But beware, Disney spies may have messed up with it... But yeah, the JL is like a family most of the time. Lose that and, well, you have The Authority, especially with the current tone... No, scratch that, the Authority members actually had fun with each other and enjoyed life.
