So, I've been rewatching Justice League from the beginning and something I've noticed is that, in the first episode, 1.) Superman totally ditches everyone in Metropolis, while alien invaders blow up the city so that he could go rescue Martian Manhunter from some Military outpost in the middle of nowhere, and 2.) the Justice League ****ing murders the **** out of the alien invaders. Their weakness is ultraviolet radiation, and you get Batman dragging the dudes into the sunlight via grappling hook, while their amoeba-like flesh bubbles and burns, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Hawkgirl smashing holes in the hull of their ship, so that sunlight pores through and immolates the poor bastards, but, it's cool, because they don't look like people and Bruce Timm is God.

For the record, I love the DCAU and very much agree that it's probably the definitive version of the DCU (hell, look at my sig), but I just think it's funny how people either forget this stuff or go out of their way to cherry pick where and when it's okay.

But what do you want them to do with Alien Invaders though, invite them over for tea? :lol

I'm just saying it's an interesting double standard is all. Zod looks like a human, therefore people are shocked when he gets killed. Same deal with the people Batman killed (because they were human). So, are we just saying that this "no killing" policy only applies to species that look like us? If so, then that's ****ing racist, and, if not, then we're holding them to an impossible standard, as you just pointed out.:lol

You're right, if Bruce Timm was a genius he just would've had the aliens mutter "Martha" and Batman and Superman and the hording alien invasion would've become besties.

Bruce Timm wanted a darker, loner Batman back in 1991/1992. An animated Batman that possibly killed and wouldn't have allies like Robin or Batgirl. He wanted to make him a cynical ****er.

Obviously didn't happen, but the idea was there.

Let me turn that upside down.

I'm actually partial towards real cities in my superhero movies.

Manhattan, Washington are ok in my book while Sokovia, Central and Coast City are not.

That's why I love STM using Manhattan to represent Metropolis and I actually enjoyed Nolan using Chicago and Wall Street.

Batman 89 Gotham is cool because it's actually Gothic.

I am a racist towards made up cities, didn't give a crap about Sokovia citizens being killed. :lol

I can understand that. Totally different argument, though, but I buy that. I'm just saying that all the uproar about Superman killing Zod is kind of ******** when nobody would care if he looked like a giant floating jellybean that Superman tore in half.:lol Hell, nobody gave a **** when Supes stabbed his hulked out clone/love child through the heart, since he looked like a cave troll.

That's just silly, because everyone knows aliens don't speak English...except in Krypton for some reason :lol
I actually just watched it and the aliens did speak English when they morphed into humans. When it got to the part where they were being destroyed by the sunlight all they did was scream like idiots. Lol. I always thought the first season of Justice League was lame anyway.

dpnt you mean specieist?

Well, I think WB is just trying to figure out why audiences aren't responding to their new movie universe like they have Marvel's. It's gotta be tough to watch Deadpool explode like it has, then see your two greatest characters finally come together in a movie that people thought might surpass The Avengers, underperform at the box office and get slaughtered by the critics. Now Civil War looks like it's another grand slam for Marvel and you can understand why they are getting frustrated. I actually thought Snyder would be taken off Justice League after WB realized that Batman v Superman wasn't going to hit the Billion mark. It's a bottom line business and WB isn't going to keep letting these movies go in the same direction the last two have if they don't perform how they think they should.

Those Aquaman rumors are from yours truly Faraci.

He also said huge battles taking place between WB and Snyder but that JL will be what it is, too late to change it.

That one was already posted by Prince.

It's the only good news out of the three, and apparently the only one that's true :lol

There's also another rumor that G Miller may be taking the GL corps movie.

snyder should just make a Batman cinematic universe and stick to only that

Nightwing, Batman, batgirl , Batwoman, Suicide Squad, Teen Titans,

we know snyder can handle batman the best

we know the batman movies are the ones that do the best with fans

and we know they make the most money.... so why not just stick to that.
