If they were seriously thinking about a reboot already, with 2 films in the can, then I think that is a pretty damn big problem.

If any of those rumors are true, I'd rather they rebooted completely instead of Frankensteining an MCU out of the corpse of the Snyderverse.

Just let the Snyderverse die, let it be a failed experiment, I'd be fine with that, I'm pretty sure WB is never going full MCU anyway, but they will surely try something with wider appeal next time.

I don't know if anyone here posted the rumors about the WB employee who went on 4chan to share some gossip.

It was a LOT for me to remember, about LOTS of stuff, not only DC-related, but one of those points was that Snyder/WB had a Flashpoint paradox-type reboot under the sleeve.

Did the person say anything about zack and WB having problems?

No, it was like a month ago. He did say that they made Zack give a presentation of the movie, with storyboards and stuff, before he started shooting JL so the execs would know exactly the kind of movie it was going to be.

Also stuff like they didn't fire Snyder because Snyder made exactly the movie they asked for, that there was a lot of influence by excecs in a rush to create the universe, that a lesser director would've cracked under those tight demands.

Stuff like that.

He also said that Nolan was supposed to be something like the Feige of DC films but he mentally checked out and didn't care, he completely focused on Dunkirk.

Also that Nolan was about to close the deal for the Akira adaptation, but again, Dunkirk.

Stuff like that, it was a LOT of information and of unchecked validity obviously, but it was a fun read and he seemed to know what he was talking about. If I can find the thread I'll post it here for anyone who's interested.

Nope, everything is going perfectly as planned. Zack is laughing at the hate, WB has never been happier than now.

Losing the director of flash and now possibly losing the aquaman director is all of the perfect plan by zack and WB. They couldnt be happier.

Batman v superman has made more profit now than any marvel movie made or even more profit than nolans batman movie.

It's a matter of time before someone makes an Akira adaptation, might as well be him, he's probably one of the few who can make Akira more digestible for the masses, while not making it a brainless blockbuster, and give it great cinematography and a great soundtrack.

The only thing I'm worried about if it's him it's the casting, I don't want to see any of the usual faces and I sure as hell don't want JGL as Tetsuo, it has to be a young adult novel type casting all around, more young than adult.

Actually Dane Dehaan was perfect for Tetsuo when Chronicle came out, he was essentially Tetsuo in that movie.

I don't want to see Bane, I don't want to see My Cocaine, etc etc.

And don't have his brother write the script, please

No one should do AKIRA. The animated movie didn't even capture the scope of that story properly and it was directed by the same person who created it the manga. I can't imagine how screwed up it would be as a live action flick.

The movie did capture everything but it's obviously different because it was made when Otomo was still halfway though writing the manga, so that's why the scope is different.

But because of this, they're both different enough to work on their own.

A live action movie is very achievable, some changes would be made obviously, and it would have to be a series, not a single movie, like a trilogy.

Movie 1 ends with Tetsuo in charge of the joker gang.
Movie 2 has Akira awakening, second blast, and ends with rise of the great Tokyo empire.
Movie 3 fall of the GTE.

Or make a single movie based on the anime movie and leave the manga alone, I would rather they did this.

Of course I'd rather have no hollywood adaptation at all, but that's a very unrealistic wish.

I agree with you on how it should be done, I just don't think Hollywood is capable of treating a manga adaptation with that level of respect.

To be fair, a live action movie doesn't have to be the same as the source material. It just has to be a good film and work as a film. The manga will always be there. Same thing applies to comic book films, imo.

Why does nolan have to do everything? His movies aren't anything special but thats my opnion, he made one good batman movie and one near perfect batman movie and other movies. Akira is a colorful and strange world. I don't want it looking like inception or tdkr... ugh

WB as a whole doesn't seem to give a **** about there superheroes.

I look at the cartoons they have out now and how they slander there once great heroes like having the Power puff girls twerking , canceling young justice, making TTG, and just not giving a **** about its properties.

Making a wonder woman movie in the yr 2017 all because they were afraid the character wouldn't sell. What kind of **** is that? Then marvel comes along and all these hero movies are kicked into high gear that we are even getting a damn Aquaman movie. Welp.
