It's like Star War fans. The PT is rubbish to them, but they still paid to see the movies several times in theaters, bought the multiple versions of home video offerings and have dolls and collectible offerings from them. :lol

It's been said more than once, but box office doesn't mean anything in terms of being a good movie. A couple of the Transformers movies made more than BvS and they were complete ****. BvS is just a disappointing piece of ****. If it had been complete ****, it probably would have made more money because general audiences love that stuff.

It seems to me that you're confused, child. So let me, enlighten you. When a movie you don't like is critically panned, it deserves it. If it makes money, it's because of the DAMN SHEEPLE AND THEIR ****ING AWFUL TASTE!!! Ahem, now, if a movie you do like is critically panned, it's because THE CRITICS ARE ****ING DUMB! If the BO is good though, that means THAT THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN! See, it's all written in "The Great Book of the Internet". If you opened a book once in a while, you'd know that. But alas, what do I expect from a man who calls this marvel of cinema "a piece of ****". Seriously mate, you're ****ing wrong, and that's a fact...

I think my favorite comparison so far has been "BvS was better than Civil War because CW wasn't polarizing. Since everyone liked it that proves it was cookie cutter and uninspired. The fact that so many didn't like BvS proves it was good."

What happened to people just saying "I liked it because of this, I didn't like it because of that" without having to come up with some cockamamie ******** thesis on why being good proves something is bad and being bad proves something is good. :duh :lol

Pretty much. Own up to your opinion, don't run around trying to look for a Hive-Mind.

If I like a movie, I like it. If I don't then I don't. I feel no need to convince anyone else that I'm right and they're wrong because it's all just opinion.

Didn't you know the purpose of the interwebz is to provide everyone else with evidence of your superior intellect?

Exactly. I didn't like BvS because it disappointed me. This was the film I'd been waiting for the most this year and it was one big let-down with a couple cool moments scattered throughout. My overall outlook when I left the theater was that I wish they had done the majority of the film differently--from characterization to the entire story. No one is going to convince me it was a good film and I'm not going to convince someone that loved it that they shouldn't. Everyone has their own opinion. I get annoyed by the people that act like this film gets hate because it was sooooo smart that it went over the heads of the general public or that it's a conspiracy by other companies so their films look better. To me, it crammed three storylines into one film when there should have been a film dedicated to each then added commercials for future movies just to make it even more disjointed.

Let's be honest, we all like the interwebz and forum banter :lol It's a form of entertainment. Like I should be doing important stuff...but here I am reading acomments about a film I don't love. :slap I would be a more productive member of society if this were the 90's and the internet didn't exist. :lol

$870 million in tickets from people who harshly hated it. That's impressive.

Yes exactly, it is like star wars prequels, made billions.

One question
What happened to Lucas's reputation? What happened when he tried to do that plane movie?
What happened to his legacy? Probably being harassed for years , laughed at, ridiculed, even by his peers.

Sure lucas is rich, but, im not even talking about being ridiculed by greasy sweaty fans online or the street but by people in the industry, by critics, by his peers.

That probably sucks, joel Schumacher has been apologizing for a decade. Batman and robin was not a flop.

Ryan reynolds basically made a career of apologizing and self hating for green lantern. I mean, sure zack is not an extreme case like that but still batman v superman could have become a problem for him if justice league is badly received too

But your opinion is fact. That's rule #1 in the internet bylaws. Second rule is any and all female nudity is free.

In other words, it's always someones opinion that X is better than Y. And it the end, it means nothing.

He's proven himself with directing with THX 1138, American Graffiti and Star Wars as well as writing with the Indy flicks. The guy has been able to do whatever he wanted.

He gives no ****s.

Yeah I don't really think many of George Lucas' peers are laughing at him. Considering how many filmmakers site SW as their inspiration I'd say his legacy is safe.

He allowed fan restorations of the theatrical OT to be freely distributed and then sold the franchise to a company that wanted to redeem the saga so he ended on a high note as far as I'm concerned.

well that's the thing, he had to do all that do redeem himself a little bit,

What will Zack do to redeem himself? :lol

it might not seem like it now because of how long ago Phantom menace was. But I remember every single late show just making so much fun of the whole thing after like a year it came out, remember Howard Stern making fun, the Daily show, a lot of magazines kept making fun, a lot of that stuff seems trivial and forgotten in the past but, Im just saying George might have felt a little bad about it, regardless of how rich he was. Being the butt of the joke any time his movie was mentioned. that must have sucked.
