Part of me wishes they would have just done a solo Batman movie with Affleck Bats, Irons Alfred and whatever good solo Batman story and villain they could come up with. Maybe have Affleck and his team make it.

On the surface this seems like something new. A Batman/Superman film does seem appealing to me. But then I remember, these are the same people that gave us MoS, then you got all these other characters that have been announced (or are potentially in it and have yet to be cast). I dunno.

Honestly, Hopeman should've gotten his own dedicated sequel to become Superman, Batman should get his own film to establish him as different from Nolan's and they should've either done a Wonder Woman like Troy to introduce her, or an Aquaman in the vein of Thor, or Dwayne Johnson as Stewart's GL, toss in a Batman vs. Superman just before JL and then roll straight into a JL movie. It would've potentially earned them a bigger box office than Avengers.

All and all this casting choice hasn't received nearly as much hate as the previous 2 (Ben, Gal), either it's not that bad, or the fans finally gave up.

I think if this were announced first.... yeah, no one is surprised by WB anymore. Dude, they could announce Stephen Hawking as Doomsday tomorrow and I wouldn't care....

The Marvel machine keeps pumping them out while WB keeps throwing out whatever sticks.

Steve Rogers is the man with a plan afterall.

Poor Affleck thinks he signed up for greatness.

Just like MOS, this will be forgotten.

STM/89 Batman days are over with at WB.

Or am I being too harsh.

The official statements of the casting state this at the end, "Chris Terrio is currently writing the script based on a screenplay by David S. Goyer."

So now I guess the new script is based on Goyer's.

Yup, I almost never take them off, I just flip them inside out to get an extra day.

I think that regardless of how upset some people were with TDKR Nolan's trilogy will still be remembered in the long run as the greatest Batman films. But yeah STM days seem to be long gone.

It's A nicer way of saying " Goyer's a ******ing idiot when it comes to superman. we tossed his script out and are writing a new one, but e's got a contract, so we're forced to keep paying the ******* for a further 3 films"

Yeah, it'd have to be a movie that is so universally panned that almost no one goes to see it in the first place (Green Lantern.) Otherwise even if it's another Batman & Robin it'll live on in infamy.

That's making a pretty big assumption, that WB can make a series of quality movies leading up to this theoretical JL movie.
