Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

The argument was that TDKR, MOS and SR are good, quality movies and that Jye trying to seduce batfan and Gaspar into his home is legal.

Glad you don't agree!

Jye doing that again? :lol

over analyzing any movie you will realize most have flaws. Indiana jones ROTLA is a prime example always come to mind. But carry on...

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Wut?

Raiders of the Lost Ark is perfect. It has no flaws. I think you're thinking of Crystal, yo.

If u don't know the ROTLA flaw your better off. Just geeks over analyzing.

Actually I hate movie threads because everyone thinks only their opinion matters but I keep getting sucked in :lol

They need to have a ignore button for entire threads :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Don't tempt it DiFab, it might be one of those that which has been seen cannot be unseen scenarios.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

TBBT is great, but they rarely ever go into detail about specific geek topics, I think I know what you're talking about and I'm not quite sure I agree with what they said.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Every film has flaws, but if their strengths don't make us want to forgive them, most of us won't. That explains why most of us can laugh at the time-traveling element at the end of Superman78 yet still pile praises on top of it. It was a perfect instance where the actor filled in the weaknesses of the film. Reeve sold that **** like nothing else. There's almost nothing that film could have done to ruin it, Reeve's performance was a complete absorption of the character.

"Hope" is a perfect word for MOS and for WB. We "hope" they do a better job at MOS2/BvsS, we "hope" all the casting against type will work, we "hope" they will be able to make a coherent movie with all the new extra heroes they'll be introducing. Hope can be well founded or unfounded and it's called false hope when it's unfounded. How could we call it anything else when they've failed to prove much of anything cinematically. They did prove Supes could be a knockback throwdown brute. Maybe they could retcon it into Bizarro's origin story though since it runs counter to alot of our core assumptions about the character.

:horror

Superman is such a recognizeable name that Box Office returns shouldn't be the only determinant as to how bad or well it did. It's like a sports team that everyone will go pay tickets for regardless if they win or lose... at least once. Superman deserves a World Series win, and MOS wasn't it. MOS 2 looks more like the owners just want to get to the playoffs and make just enough profit to keep the attendance going. They can always say "maybe next year". False "hope" is the mantra of everything now, because we delay the natural consequences of underachievment with promises of an idealized future outcome which will likely never happen.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Is there any chance to actually discuss this movie here with people who are still in some positive way invested in this franchise, or is it all just pretty much cynical people raging because they have a shallow way of watching films?

I for one hope (get it?) they will continue flashback material with Jon Kent to expand upon Clarke's youth. Maybe create an interesting angle between Superman's youth and Batman's. Or perhaps even Lex'. I'm also really curious just how much we'll get to see Batman, because there's a great opportunity here to have such a massive a-list character remain within a mysterious supporting role, externally viewed. I also wonder if there will be an established dynamic between Luthor and Wayne, or if they might not even meet.

I still think any of those announced castings for other JL members are anything more but setup cameos. I think this film will be about Superman dealing with Lex on one hand and Batman on the other.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

For you sake I'd say that if they do have flashbacks in this movie, they'd have a fair shot at stealing the show.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Yeah, Kevin Costner was fantastic. And I was surprised by how well the young Clarke was. I really hope they have at least a scene or two more in this film.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I wouldn't go that far, but hey whatever keeps us from internet hate crimes. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Kevin should come back in Clark's dreams to teach him not to rescue people more often because it's unnatural and god wants them to die. Then after every flashback lesson he can kill himself in a new inventive way as Clark wakes up from the nightmare.

That could work. Each scenario he could be done up like one of his previous roles. He could be eaten by wolves, shot by a CIA sniper, hung by a medieval sheriff, hit in the head by a fastball, choke on a hotdog, spear-gunned by Dennis Hopper, or baseball-batted to death by Robert De Niro.

:dance

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

"You weren't supposed to save Lois, Clark. God told me he's not happy with you."

"Dad? But... I'm dreaming?"

"Now, watch me jump off this bridge to save that fish from drowning."

"DAAAAAHD!"

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

:rotfl

Or Aquaman could just come up and spear his ass.

Most threads here people are very cynical every toy and movie and think only their opinion matters.
