Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

They will prolly be melted by the time the movie comes out.

Lol.

But seriously, Doesn't HT gets to design these things way before the movie comes out? I'm sure they don't see any plot details or screen time of any characters (Rhyno)

For all we know, they have already started working on WW.

Look at this guy. If you give Bradley the classic Joker look he's gonna be creepy as ****. Guy's a great actor in both comedy and drama, understands both. Can go berserk but can act subtly as well. Forget that he's usually muscular, he's the only guy I know who I can see upstaging Heath at this point. (Unless you wanna go older like DaFoe.) He's perfect for it imo. He's actually a good impersonator as well, so he's good at voice work. They picked him for Rocket for a reason I'd say.

I don't really know anyone for MatMac to play. Don't really think he fits into Batman's world, other than maybe Nolan's version of it all.

You know how much fan *****ing it would cause if he was cast as the joker? I dont even wanna imagine the rants and memes. Affleck would be nothing compared to this casting. But I agree he would be a good choice and I've learned to always wait for the final product before whining. I was skeptical on affleck but the batsuit is kickass and I think he'll do fine.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

This. I wish it was just a pic and nothing more. This flick is gonna be a trainwreck.

How do you know it's going to be a train wreck? This is literally the first thing any of us have seen. Sounds like you just want it to suck. I think this flick is going to be awesome. Cannot wait to see it.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Well, Goyer/Snyder are apparently at the helm again, and this is a continuation of Man of Steel, so despite the involvement of the Argo guy, my guess is that Man of Steel will be a pretty fair gauge.

But Man of Steel is not the cinematic abortion some people claim it to be. And if we are judging this film by MOS, and I liked MOS, then it follows that i will like this.I get that opinions on movies can be varied. But there are people who enjoyed Man of Steel. i am one of them. Plus I like to keep an open mind about things. Snyder has directed more good films than bad IMO(which is just my opinion). People are hating on Goyer now, but he had a hand in all 3 of Nolan's Batman films. People seem to just want this film to fail. I don't. I like Superman, and love Batman. I hope it is worth the 21 years I have been waiting to see these guys on screen together.

I didn't know Nolan was one of the writers for mos. Just thought a producer, interesting.

Add me to the camp that also enjoys Man of Steel. I'm not the biggest Snyder fan, he's definitely a style over substance sort of guy but that's not necessarily a terrible thing (look at Burton). It'll just be nice to see a different take on the bat and if it turns out to be an abomination then I'll just shrug my shoulders and move on - it doesn't diminish the films that have come before it and there's plenty of superhero films out there which I can also enjoy

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Just let the haters hate, it's that simple. If some can't enjoy this franchise for whatever reason – whether that reason is objectively valid or not – that's their problem. There's been enough attempt by many people to explain why a lot (and it is a lot) of people do feel man of steel was good or even better than good and it leads to nowhere. It's exactly like that guy just posted in the amazing spider-man 2 thread, haters always need to constantly repeat and spew their **** to vent even though they have no willingness whatsoever to even try to look at things differently. It's as old as human stupidity. Almost everyone I speak to is ****ing tired of it, but some people are just too bored too care.

Haters gonna hate, it's that. ****ing. simple. Quoting a god damn iron man signature ffs.:lol

@Joday76 Nolan was kindof a semiwriter if you will, Goyer pitched the idea for superman to Nolan and Nolan was so intrigued by it he decided to use his position to set the wheels in motion. A producer always has influence on the story and Nolan and Goyer set out to find a director that fit their approach. Snyder and Goyer then proceeded to develop the story and pitched it back and forth to Nolan, but Nolan was more of a story consultant than anything else I'd say. Now Nolan is focussing on other stuff because he didn't went looking for a guy to hand this whole thing over to for nothing. Snyder, Goyer and Affleck (when it concerns Batman) are now the creative team. Affleck was quoted explicitly as someone who will co-develop this incarnation of Batman. I expect Affleck will end up directing solo Batman features.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Good point Silrian. I have to stop letting the pessimism get next to me.

I hope you are right and that Affleck is planning to direct some of the Batman films. I love him as a director. And I hope he adapts a couple of the better comic storylines to film. I would love to see a live action Under the Red Hood or Court of Owls(if you want new villains).

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I really, thoroughly enjoyed Man of Steel. It wasn't perfect, and I was more than happy to make light of some of the more divisive elements, but it was a solid, enjoyable film, and a great start to a new Superman for a new generation. With that in mind, everything I've heard about this film makes me think it's going to be even better than the last.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Can I be both pessimistic and excited at the same time?

I didn't like Man Of Steel. I'm not happy that that particular world is the basis of the DC shared universe. But on the other hand, damned if I'm not excited about seeing Batman and Superman in one film regardless.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I hated MoS and I'm not a fan of Goyer's input with DC heroes.

Visually, I got no beef with Snyder. I loved 300 and Watchmen completely. I'm hoping the problem with MoS was just a misunderstanding of the Superman character, and that they do a better job now that Batman is thrown into the mix. I have faith and this new photo of Batman and the Batmobile have made me cautiously optimistic of this next installment. For me, I think there's a possibility to redeem the MoS ****, almost like what was done with the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man. He was terrible and douchey in the first movie, but then by film two, they totally revamped him visually and through his character.

If they refocus Superman, maybe ignore what happened last year, I'm game. So far the Batman part of this project is the most appealing, from Jeremy Irons as Alfred to Bats' suit and car. If Superman and his world sucks again, so be it, hopefully Batman alone delivers.
