Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

If that's true... . . . Eh, I can't think of anything insulting enough.

Why? In the new 52 she was the 1st "meta-human" to be introduced formally by the government, while all the other heroes were running around.

Besides, it's consistent with WW's origin, New52 and pre-New52, remember she is discovered by a US air force pilot, and Diana herself returns him to the US as an emissary of the Amazons.

BTW: I noticed you removed the "superman" from my comment, no matter how hard you try, it's still a Superman movie. :lol

I've rewatched MoS once and have no desire to do so again, it just doesn't feel special or uplifting enough. I'm getting too old I think :lol

Don't bring New 52 to a conversation as anything but second-lowest point in DC history :nono

Despite it's weak start, DC comics is getting it's **** together and they already have some pretty damn good arcs and really forming a new identity, they're past that low point now, and JL Origins was certainly never part of that low point.

Still, DC fans are being little *****es.

Man I recognize that you are an old school fan of DC but where were they before the new 52 in terms of sales and popularity. And despite some great stories they have always had trouble with their characters story. I always considered DC Comics as being far lesser quality than Marvel both in story and quality of artists. And that is not to mention the convoluted timeline that they have you know it needed to be rebooted who could make sense of that mess.

They knew they needed to clean it up and bring in new readers. The established fan base is not what they are seeking they are trying to make an impact with the mainstream audience.

Yup, DC was in trouble before the new-52, they earned the bad name they got in the beginning, but they already fixed that for the most part, in fact both Marvel and DC dropped the ball about the same time, problems with their characters?

I agree about the time-line being a mess, in fact, I wish they would have made a full reboot and not a partial one.

About DC being lesser quality, I couldn't disagree more DC has some of the most epic (and I don't mean that as an hyperbole) events and arcs ever, that dig deep into complex moral and philosophical questions, things you rarely find in Marvel, the focus on the characters between Marvel and DC is very different, Marvel characters are more "relatable" since they're flawed and DC's are godlike and with morals almost set in stone, hence why the dynamic and stories are different, personally I think both are just as good, depending on what you're looking for, since I love power fantasies, that's why I'm a DC guy (by just a tad cause I love Marvel too), but I can also appreciate the flawed and more human characters in Marvel.

Art-wise the same, they're both just as good, both have had genius artists and horrible artists and shared many of them.

I began to read DC comics with the Geoff Johns green lantern rebirth run prior to that I never read any of their comics I would only look at them at the store but since the quality of the art was not what I was used to marvel I never purchased any. I'm mostly started reading comics in the 90s Jim Lee and MacFarlane all these artists who went on to Image Comics.

DC Comics have greatly improved in terms of their characters and artists now I can count half the titles that I purchase on a monthly basis as DC comics.

The only story arcs that I know that were popular in the past are really the Green Lantern when he turns evil and Superman`s Death and Batman's back being broken.

That is what mostly I recall as being popular. But that whole infinity mess I can't get into that although I did like SuperBoy Prime being evil.

I think the Dark Knight movies have a direct influence in the comics in the direction of future movies The tone of the Nolan movies was a success for DC and will continue to be found in both the comics and in future movies

I feel like I'm some total hippie. Everybody's always butting heads over something, and I'm just here like "we're all part of the same universe, maaaaaaan. I like DC and Marvel movies, I like Pre-New 52 and Post-New 52 DC, give things a chance, brothers and sisters, because life is so much more...uhhh, awesome! Yeah, awesome! Heh huh heh...that way."

Wow! I completely agree with you! Currently, I think they are both doing great jobs. Once Charles Soule took over the Superman/Wonder Woman book, Superman has been good, and then when Greg Pak took over Action Comics, I thought it was one of the best ongoing Superman titles in like 20 years. As good as Geoff John's Green Lantern was, this is the first time Hal Jordan's character is interesting to me, and this is my favorite Green Lantern story ever! I never was interested in Wonder Woman stories, but I absolutely love her now, and am blown away by the beautiful art! The new Animal Man and Swamp Thing, are characters who I knew zip about, and now I want to check out their old stuff. While there have been many bumps, I think they deserve praise. I wish they would have fully rebooted it as well, because it made a big mess of a lot of things. There is a lot I hate, but that got me into Marvel, when the only thing I read was Stan Lee and Chris Claremont's X-Men and some Spider-man. And they say good can't come from hate! Ha! Frank Miller/Brian Bendis/Ed Brubaker's Daredevil is my proof! There's so much old DC that would carry me for multiple life times anyways, so I can't complain.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Something about Gadot rubs me the wrong way, figuratively. She comes off somewhat arrogant to me. I know it's a cliche bs thing to say but she comes off a bit... Too casual with being chosen for this part. It's honestly a great honour to land such a part as such an unknown actor and though I'm sure it's to her credit, it remains a massive lottery ticket. Of course she's not allowed to do muchpress but... Baring in mind it's just a dodgy first impression, she doesn't come across that sympathetic to me.

But I hope, and try to assume, that's just a lack of knowing her really.
