No, you're right. I forgot about that.

I could just see a couple making out in the parked car and then Batman drives by and blows them all straight to hell. If those kids were closer, they'd be engulfed in the flames too.

:lol :lol

Neesons also = lol

Reminded me of Sanford and NeeSons. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Someone else pointed out that you can pick apart any movie. This is true, even the best of movies like Chinatown or Coen Bros. films have continuity errors, etc. The trick is to get audiences engaged enough that they can overlook those things, and in most cases won't even notice them unless they are actively trying to be critical (and TDK has been seen many many times by lots of boardies here teasing out criticisms).

A movie like Man of Steel is more problematic IMO, because folks picked up so many flaws on first viewing. To me, that suggests that the movie didn't do its job, and moviegoers were so perturbed and/or bored that they spent their time noticing all the different flaws. It could also mean that the movie has a lot more flaws to be found, and that they are more blatant, which I think is definitely the case with MOS.

Tornado comes to mind. :lol

First viewing BAM! :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Exactly. He's taking this chance with innocent people and yet won't kill known murderers. Surely they have to know the viewing audience is gonna point this out.

I know! I doubt less than 5% of all moviegoers missed his wanton carelessness regarding potential innocent casualties. Indicative of a poorly made scene IMO.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

You gotta wonder what was Nolan's point. making careless mistakes like that, or are they?

Is there more meaning behind Batman and his carelessness for people's lives? Is he trying to say that no matter how much you try, bad guys should just die? that Batman was just as bad as them?

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Nitpicking aside, Rises is Nolan's worst technical movie ever. So many legit mistakes and continuity errors. I've heard the Imax Cameras blamed because he could only afford a single take on most shots but wow. You can just tell his heart was not in it like his other films.

it does feel like he was forced by the studios and by fan pressure. Almost like he was thinking, "Better just get this stupid movie over with"
like Begins and dark knight were passion projects but rises was a chore to him

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

No worries, Tony Stark did plenty of that too.

In fact, almost every superhero movie has a moment where it has me thinking about possible civilian casualties.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Well I don't see how people can complain about human casualties in Man of Steel and Batman but be ok with it in the Avengers, thor 2 or and any other marvel movie.

BINGO.

the problem was Nolan beating you over the head with the notion of "I ONLY HAZ ONE RULE BAAAHHHHHH"

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

My main problem with rises is that he tried to fit 4 hrs of story into 2 1/2 hrs

Well, that's how it is around here, better get used to it.

Does he actually ever say that? Even if he did, that doesn't excuse the others.

I actually think that may have been the problem, the story was too overwhelming for just 2 hours.

Good replies..TDKR is way underated ..too ambitious? Maybe. Nolan just did not want to make TDK over but audiences did want him to do that...
