No, you're right. I forgot about that.
I could just see a couple making out in the parked car and then Batman drives by and blows them all straight to hell. If those kids were closer, they'd be engulfed in the flames too.
Someone else pointed out that you can pick apart any movie. This is true, even the best of movies like Chinatown or Coen Bros. films have continuity errors, etc. The trick is to get audiences engaged enough that they can overlook those things, and in most cases won't even notice them unless they are actively trying to be critical (and TDK has been seen many many times by lots of boardies here teasing out criticisms).
A movie like Man of Steel is more problematic IMO, because folks picked up so many flaws on first viewing. To me, that suggests that the movie didn't do its job, and moviegoers were so perturbed and/or bored that they spent their time noticing all the different flaws. It could also mean that the movie has a lot more flaws to be found, and that they are more blatant, which I think is definitely the case with MOS.
Exactly. He's taking this chance with innocent people and yet won't kill known murderers. Surely they have to know the viewing audience is gonna point this out.
Y'all mothertruckers need jeezus.
Nitpicking aside, Rises is Nolan's worst technical movie ever. So many legit mistakes and continuity errors. I've heard the Imax Cameras blamed because he could only afford a single take on most shots but wow. You can just tell his heart was not in it like his other films.
wanton carelessness regarding potential innocent casualties... and mass damage. Here ya go
Well I don't see how people can complain about human casualties in Man of Steel and Batman but be ok with it in the Avengers, thor 2 or and any other marvel movie.
Well, that's how it is around here, better get used to it.Well I don't see how people can complain about human casualties in Man of Steel and Batman but be ok with it in the Avengers, thor 2 or and any other marvel movie.
BINGO.
the problem was Nolan beating you over the head with the notion of "I ONLY HAZ ONE RULE BAAAHHHHHH"
My main problem with rises is that he tried to fit 4 hrs of story into 2 1/2 hrs

Does he actually ever say that? Even if he did, that doesn't excuse the others.
I actually think that may have been the problem, the story was too overwhelming for just 2 hours.
