Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Goyer is completely hit and miss for me. I can be of the opinion he completely nails stuff, as well as the opposite.

In Manhunter's case it's clearly the opposite for me. Although I don't think there's place for MM in the first core JLA, him + green lantern involved in a JL film set more in space could be fantastic and he's an interesting expansion character.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Also, Green Lantern sounds a ten times as goofy as Martian Manhunter as far as I'm concerned... Always found MM a pretty badass name, one of the few longer superhero names that still work.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

So what happened to Man of Steel part 2? Or WB just decided to Chuck the whole establishing Superman thing and go with a team movie? It would have been great if Superman received the same respect as batman and was given his own series before all of this Dawn of Justice nonsense. I would have loved to see Brainiac, doomsday, and even Bizarro in a film. Now it's straight to justice league, and later for establishing a brand new Superman.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Still hope they adapt Flashpoint Paradox into the story and the setup for WW and Aquaman to enter the fray will be a war between amazons and atlantians. Or en environmental angle for them to approach normal human society. Could be the latter as it was already present in MoS to a small degree.

Btw I never noticed myself but the oil rig was on the name of a human nemisis of Aquman so there is a factual explicit aquaman refference in MoS.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Yep. Terrio's being credited as the writer.

I like Terrio's work, so I have no problem with this And if this was Affleck's doing, then even better. The guy has an eye for good scripts and good stories. I am looking forward to this more and more. Also looking forward to the inevitable Affleck directed Batman film. Hope he adapts Under the Red Hood.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Updated the first post with logo and changed the thread title.

This just feels cheap imo.

Captain America: The First Avenger >>>>> The Avengers
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice >>>>> Justice League

Regardless, I stand by my statement. Just because Marvel did something similar doesn't make my point any less valid. I'm not trying to compare it with Marvel. I'm judging it on its own merits. Though I'd argue in that case they'd already been building towards something. This does feel way cheesier in comparison. Like a click-bait headline designed to lure in as much interest in possible. But, as I said, despite the rather crass marketing angle of it, I'm still game. It doesn't have to mean anything for the actual content of the movie. If the movie follows suit, blah. But I'm hoping it'll be more organic and interesting than that.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

What are Terrio's credits? Can somebody give me a bit more objective details on what hap[pened there? Last I heard Goyer was in charge of the whole shared universe.

My guess is that this movie will be exactly like Amazing Spiderman 2 was. introduce a couple of characters. have them in with small cameos. Show them in full costume at the very end.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

I still prefer the title:

Man of Steel 2: The punch from space that exploded Batmans internal organs ....or did it?!

Please god no, let it be the reversed, let ASM2 have the better title and BVSDOJ (dafaq, seriously... dafaq?) be the better film.

He wrote Argo last year, and, I believe, won an Oscar for it.

I'm pretty sure it's all geek conjecture at this point, though given the mixed reviews regarding Man of Steel it stands to reason that they may want to try a different approach moving forward. Terrio's only credit as a screenwriter is Argo according to IMDB. He provided "additional screenplay material" to a movie he directed called "Heights." And he wrote a short called "Book of Kings."

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

The fact that Goyer was unwilling to use Martian manhunter shows you what kind of writer he is. A good writer can take any ghpe of character and make them interesting.

Re: Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

:lol

"Dawn of Justice", wut. I thought it was fake or a new video game at first. Why not just call it Batman vs. Superman? There would have been NOTHING wrong with that.

I also thought of a video game when I first saw it. Considering Snyder is directing, perhaps that is appropriate though.
