Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The fact that Lois Lane figured it out, makes sense, but everybody not making the connection is nothing implausible, he's just a dorky, clumsy, awkward reporter, and yes, glasses are more than enough to not recognize someone, there are I don't know how many people who look a LOT like you your own city, Superman should be no exception to that.

A 6ft 3 Ripped guy with a facial structure, eye color, hair cut, voice depth and facial hair amount identical to superman would definitely raise questions. It would be similar to people saying someone looks like a particular celebrity. Either way, people would put two and two together, gaining the truth eventually if they watched/stalked him.

He wears a suit 2 sizes bigger and raises his voice an octave, and glasses can alter the look of a facial frame, that's no secret, plus he wears a different hair style, all that contributes to people not looking twice at him.

Besides, yeah it would raise questions, but the people immediately dismiss the concept when they see him trip on something and getting someone's coffee spilled on him.

People looking like a particular celebrity really raises no attention other than, hmmm guy looks like whoever.

People have tried to stalk him and prove he's superman in the past, you think he doesn't notices it? He always figures out a way to show he's not Superman.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

well a stupid disguise worked for Tom Cruise :dunno

( A stupid mullet, a 5 o'clock shadow and a UPS suit and no one recognized him)

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Give him subtle telepathic powers that scramble the perception of others. Let Manhunter train it out of him.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Exactly Gaspar! We have a omniscient view. I also hope we see Bibbo in a solo Superman movie! Batman and Superman have my favorite comic supporting casts. It seems like in DC the heroes are only in about a quarter of the story, and the rest is the supporting cast or villains. I like it that way.

My favorite quote from his him is when Superman died, "HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE, THE LORD IS WITH YOU...BLESSED ART THOU AMONGST WOMEN AN' BLESSED IS THE FRUIT O' THY WOMB....JESUS. HOLY MARY MOTHER O' GOD, PRAY FER US SINNERS NOW AN' AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH AMEN. TAKE GOOD CARE OF O'SUPERMAN...OKAY,GOD? I MISS 'IM....I'SPECT JUST ABOUT EVER'BODY MISSES 'IM. GOD? I GOTTA ASK YA...WHY? WHY SHOULD SUPERMAN DIE...WHEN A WASHED-UP OL'ROUGHNECK LIKE ME GOES ON LIVIN? IT AIN'T RIGHT GOD...IT JUST AIN'T RIGHT.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The glasses thing never bothered me. If that's the conceit we're asked to accept, fine, but it becomes a problem if Lex Luthor can start figuring out who other, fully masked, heroes are, and yet can't see past a pair of glasses. That's was my only point about that.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Lex Luthor made the connection right away, but dismissed it because he's just to egotistical to accept someone with god-like power would live humbly like "Clark Kent" does. You don't even have to be evil to think like that. I think his employees brought it back up later on, and he had them killed for insulting his intelligence. I think the only disguise he would find except-able is if he was like a Bruce Wayne playboy surrounded in riches.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

There's no way around it, you really have to have zero facial recognition for that "disguise" to work. It may be yet one more power in his expansive repertoire, but I think it would be cool to see him actively put mental blockers on people.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

well if no one can take a pic of him then there is no problem.

The problem of the original movies is that he was posing for pics and he was in the newspapers and everything, but this HOPEman made it clear he doesn't want that kind of recognition or the government spying on him.

So just as long as no one is able to take a clear pic then there wouldn't be an issue

The are ways around it, the ways I described from the comics.

And it doesn't require 0 facial recognition, if you tell me you never failed to recognize someone because she/he weren't wearing their glasses you're lying.

This I agree with.

I didn’t like how they tried to modernize everything but his disguise in MOS. I was hoping they might have a new take on that, or maybe drop that whole part of his life, but hopefully they make it believable in BvS.

Reeve sold the goofy Clark, that made it seem almost impossible for him to be Superman, and even in the less grounded Donner-verse, a few people were a bit suspicious of Clark. Going by MOS's ending, it doesn't look like Cavill is going that route, so hopefully Snyder finds a way to make it at least a little believable.

Yeah, I don't think Superman needs to have some totally believable, realistic explanation for why no one realizes Kent is Superman. I doubt seriously that that was on the minds of Siegel and Shuster. But Snyder et al. do open themselves up to these criticisms, if they otherwise want to make the character more realistic and believable.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The whole Clark Kent Daily Planet disguise thing was/is never going to work with Snyder's take on Superman. I'm extremely interested on how it will be handled in BvS. I for one am glad they don't seem to be going with the campy Mr. Magoo Clark Kent. We've seen that version already. Give us something different.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

In all honesty, Clark should just wear a fake beard or mustache that'll solve everything, and make it believable haha.
