Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The Batman from the animated series was a lot less cynical and brooding than the one in the comics, that's why it worked, but I cannot fathom Diana even throwing a bone at comicbook Batman.

Whoa, hold on there Gaspar ol buddy! Didn't Diana made a passing comment on the exact same thing in the episode "This Little Piggy"? :rotfl

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Dude.. :lol

The point of my earlier post (which I thought didn't need reiterating) was to show you (as I initially said) that you can find plenty of comic faithful characters in the Marvel films.

You asked me? Remember?

Let's not repeat things any further. :lol :duff

I know you can find faithful costumes, as long as the source designs aren't bright and whimsical, that was my point, poorly worded I think, but still :lol

All right I'll stop out :lol :duff:

I had to look for it cause I didn't remember :lol you're right, I guess it can work, but still, it's a lot lighter Batman.

I don't know, I never thought of Diana and Batman being too compatible, but good writing like JLU can change that.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'd rather see comic book movies done this way as opposed to live action, then you don't have to worry about things like finding actors that are the right body type or the implausibility of the costumes. As good as cgi is now, they could make it look practically live action anyway.

Yeah but then the problem becomes that people associate CGI with kids movies. so a lot of people will just say that is a movie for kids and not really care. Same thing happens with the animated movies already.

Even if the story is really good, Even if they made the CGI movie rated R, there will be the people that will still think it is just made for kids. that's the problem with making CGI stuff, some people just cannot see it as not being for kids

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm sure people said the same thing about animated films prior to anime (and stuff like Fritz the Cat, Heavy Metal, Fire and Ice, etc.). On the other hand, we never saw many mainstream, adult themed animated films of any kind in the U.S., so you could have a point. But it's a cultural issue, as this is not the case in Asia.

Frozen is sitting at 1.2 billion worldwide from a cost of 150 mil. I'm sure Disney's smallest concern while people throw money at them is what people paying to see their flick classify it as. If they don't try it, they'll never know what would work. It's not like there's not already plenty of movie bombs every year done in the traditional way, what would one more bomb be to test the waters. :lol

That's why it was so brilliant, Diana himself pointed out of Bruce's implied brooding and how much their relationship wasn't working. Terry rubbed it in on Bruce about the same thing in the future as well, and Bruce didn't respond. I guess there's something about their incompatibility that makes the dynamics interesting.

Plus Supes already has Lois.

frozen is a movie about a princess. and a lot of parents had to pay to see it whether they wanted to or not. CGI movies for kids always do well, AND they are really really good movies most of the time.

Now that you guys mention it, I wonder if a CGI Justice league made and marketed towards kids would do better than a live action one. Kids would want to go see it and parents would have to pay for it.
but you couldn't have too much action in it, or at least nothing too graphic (like zod getting his neck snapped)

Yeah, it's pretty funny, but it was never an actual relationship was it? Just and on/off kinda thing.

Yup, screw it! It's Aquaman's turn! :lol That'll give him some status.

Naah I would actually be ok without a romantically involved WW, let the character develop first.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was wondering- say if Diana will have a romantic relationship this time, who would you guys want it to be with? I'm really tired of the Superman-Wonder Woman relationship. The fling she had with Batman in the Animated Series was brilliant and a breath of fresh air.

Batman! I loved how they did that in the comics and in the JLU show. There's a lot of fun with it!

Perhaps she should just be married already when the movie starts. She already found love, she already committed to someone

Glancing at your post, I thought you said "she already committed suicide. . ." which would be a nice extension of the themes from Man of Steel.

How to shoot a character who spends time underwater is what I am curious about. Can they do it or not
