Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Post updated so you could see the characters :lol

In answer to your question, I guess he could, I don't see why they can't switch ethnicity with Cap Marvel, but from familiarity I like him more as Black Adam.

The question isn't "Can The Rock be Shazam," the question is "where the hell are we gonna find a half black, half Samoan kid who knows how to act?":lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That road map sounds pretty sweet.
I'm in.

Yep, they all sound like characters I'd wanna see on the big screen.

I'm betting we will find out who is playing Shazam, Flash and possibly Green Lantern and Aquaman at Comic Con. I bet The Rock is Shazam.

Sooo the movie roadmap for DCCU's future has been "confirmed" and it sounds pretty bad ***.

Inb4 mindless complaining.

Awesome! Thanks for the news! They should just make a Black Adam movie. Black Adam is one of the most interesting characters in the DCU, and could hold his own in multiple movies. I can't believe they're doing Flash and Green Lantern! I'm most looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie of all those. Hopefully Aquaman gets one in the future! This is just incredible news.

Well, there's a version of the character where it's a bunch of kids and not just one who transform into Captain Marvel if I remember correctly, so it could be a bunch of white kids transforming into one huge half black half Samoan badass :lol

No problem, yeah, black Adam is one of my favorite villains, and he can really give Supes a run for his money better than most.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Please, Please, Please get some decent writers on these projects!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Oh yeah, Sandman is one of the best comic series I've ever read. Primarily because of the writer--Neil Gaiman. Not typical superhero fare by a long stretch, though. If you want to read about musclemen in tights punching each other through buildings, that ain't the place to go. Strongly influenced by Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run, which is another one of the best comics I ever read.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Yeah for what I've researched it's not spandex action, but I don't mind that, I love Moore-esque stories too, any idead where I could start to get familiarized with Sandman?

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm intrigued about Sandman, anyone knows about that character? I only know it's a Vertigo franchise.

Go buy the Sandman series and read it--don't borrow it--buy it. It's a series i think everyone should read--comic book fan or not-- and I read every year. Gaiman wrote a masterpiece. I was lucky enough to get several of the TPBs signed by him when I lived in London and they'll stay in my collection forever.

Yeah, in some ways my being exposed to Sandman was like when I first discovered the Beatles. The first one was good, and drew me in. Then, I kept getting more of them, and each one maintained that level of quality and of inventive freshness, and enhanced my overall interest. Definitely transcends the medium of comics on an artistic level, even though like I said before, the tone, the narrative approach, many of the settings (hell, the House of Mystery), even several of the characters (like the Raven, who was previously Abigail Arcane's husband) were really first established in Alan Moore's previous work.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

So Neil Gaiman literally followed up Moore's material? And how did Moore react to that? :lol I remember Grant Morrison was asked to continue Moore's work in Marvelman and Moore made a big childish tantrum about it.... But, now that I remember, Gaiman did also follow up to Moore in Marvel man, so maybe Moore doesn't completely hate Gaiman.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

They seem to be friends, and I got the impression reading some of Gaiman's notes that Moore was a bit of a mentor to him. I think it was a form of flattery following in his footsteps that way.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That is so weird, I thought Moore hated everyone, he speaks of the medium and other artists in a very contemptible manner sometimes, I love his work but I hate the guy and his self-constructed pedestal.

I don't like it when sites report rumors as facts, but I don't mind speculating.

Now that he's not on AoS anymore (though, I suppose, he could come back), I would adore WB forever if they were to cast Bill Paxton as Max Lord. Though, like BatHamm, I'm sure that one's destined to remain in my dreams. Seriously, though, nobody does "sleazy used car salesman" better than Paxton. Even on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he was the smooth talking car salesman (but with lots and lots of guns). There are certain people who are born to play certain roles, I've always thought Paxton's was Max Lord.:lol
