:lol :lol :lol

I have little doubt these films will be well cast, and will have excellent trailers. . . and that's the extent of my optimism for these films.

What an impressive cast, what an impressive trailer.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Are the castings so horrible so far though? The only one I'm iffy about is Gal Gadot since I have only seen her in small roles in the Fast and Furious films

I think the DC films have, since Batman Beings, had excellent casting choices (Save Green Lantern, but that was more of the script/story fault IMO)

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Note to self: if I'm ever being attacked while other people are being attacked, I better beat my attacker as quickly as possible and rescue the people from theirs or run the risk of being accused of being their attacker by people who don't like me.

Or like most people, have the common courtesy to not start a fight in someone's living room. :lol No one likes that guy.

They should call this Metropolis v Superman and run with the Seinfeld plot where Clark can't repay the damage he caused so he has to work as Batman's butler.

I agree, Gal is largely just a question mark to me, despite problems they've had, the only casting that I really didn't like in MoS was Lois.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Details about Lex Luthor and other stuff (you guys are going to love this).

LexCorp scenes were filmed over the past two days and a source tells Batman News that Eisenberg has “a lot of hair”. It’s not Eisenberg’s typical curly look — it’s a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde. Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day. I’m told that the scenes shot take place towards the beginning of the movie… so maybe there’s still a chance that Lex Luthor could show up bald by the end? We’ll have to wait and see.

There’s a basketball court in the lobby with a giant 30 foot neon LexCorp industries sign.

A source tells Batman News that Holly Hunter is playing a U.S. Senator.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Sounds good to me, falls in line with a young Lex Luthor and I don't mind the fact that he has hair as long as he loses it at some point.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Only thing I don't really care for is "Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day." Sounds like that could be really bad. But, I guess that's his shtick, so not really shocked to hear it.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I dunno, I kinda like that part too, he's a Young Lex after all, mind, just about the right amount of spasm, I wouldn't want a freaking trembling chihuahua :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Y'know, as many times as Lex Luthor has appeared on screen, just once it would be nice if he was just regular old cold, scheming, bald businessman Lex. I don't know why everyone feels like they have to put their own spin on that character. It's sad that Smallville is the closest we've gotten to that.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Lex Luthor is really closer to being a spastic mannerism guy than being a characterless teenager, he's supposed to have a dashing personality and a smartass mouth, I'm confident Eisenber can deliver that.

I'm guessing you never actually watched Smallville, then? :lol For all its flaws, Rosenbaum's Luthor was not one of them.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I love Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor! He was the reason I watched that show. Then again, I always like Luthor much more than Superman.

So he's playing the exact same role in every movie or TV show I've seen him in. I was excited to see Eisenberg do something different, and show some range. Now I'm really worried. I haven't seen all his work, so I can't fully judge his acting.

I watched it a couple times when it aired, couldn't hold my interest in the slightest, and I don't remember anything remarkable abou Rosenbaum, but he does seem to have the favor of the show's fanbase.

He is? The prototypical Luthor, to me, is more the way Obsolete Man is describing him. Not funny, not manic. Cold, straightforward, rational, and brutal.

Oh he is rational and brutal, but he is also snarky and funny, maybe not manic, but close to it, extremely egomaniac.

TAS Luthor is closer to that, and even All-Star, this is one of my favorite interpretations of Luthor (And Superman in general) and this is a Lex who pencils his eyebrows, so a little spastic will not be a problem for me.

Same here, reading that just changed my mind, I think Lex is going to be awesome.

Don't know if OT, but a buddy sent me this link on FB and it's freaking awesome, if I had the tools I'd make a bunch of these and deliberately walk through a rough neighborhood at night.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Reading that gives me a little more hope for Eisenberg's Lex. It's funny that as big a question mark as Gal Gadot is, she has never worried me. She has a charm that came through in her Fast & Furious movies. And I at least enjoyed her when she was on screen. Eisenberg was always the wild card for me. I liked him well enough in Zombieland, but nothing else really left any impression. I always thought of him as a slightly more vocal Michael Cera. So it's nice to here they are not going for that.

Lex has had hair, worn wigs etc, so that doesn't bother me. I hope at comic con, they at least announce the official cast of the JL. So we can get an idea of who we are getting in the big 7 and what actors they have in place.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I don't really see that at all. Animated series Luthor was funny and approaching manic? Are we talking about the same guy here?

g3cd36bdd.jpg

By the time Justice League rolled around he was a bit manic. Especially after he lost the Presidency and Brainiac. He was more subtle in Superman TAS, because he still had his public persona, his company, and his fortune. By JL he had lost all of that, and stopped giving a ****.
