Actually you'd be surprised to what a few tweaks would do for me to love the game ! Wouldn't take much. And speaking of BC2, it's a perfect example. My son has it on 360 and I have 2 copies for the PCs. He absolutely hates it on the 360 and loves it on the PC. Textures are very different and even the gameplay is totally different. Like I said, we shouldn't even be comparing console and PC.

I understand what youre saying. Thankfully, I don't have a PC to compare any of my games to. You can't miss what you don't have. The 360 version of BC2 looks fine to me because it's the only one I've played for the past year and a half. That'll have to do for me.

Do you,

know how to,

use multi-quote

:lol

Just asked for the 25th off from work. Now I have to make the decision if I wanna skip my appreciation of theater class.:monkey4

I'm on an iPad. It makes everything harder. That's why I post this way.

Ah. Makes sense. :hi5:

How much better do you think BF3 will look if you downloaded it to you HDD and downloaded those texture packs on the disk?

TBH, I have no idea, but it could be a substantial improvement. I know it made a big difference with Rage just on the texture loading speed.

The fact that they are doing it has got me excited and with Dice saying they have listened to what people have said about the beta good and bad and stating this will push the consoles to the limit and arguably be the best looking game to date, that's good enough for me.
I wasn't blown away by the choice of level but playing that operation firestorm level in the final version has reduced alot of doubt.

I wonder when they decided to do the texture update??

Also with Rage, I was reading how they came up with a new way of laying the graphics which enabled them to get it running at 60fps and looking as good as it does.
The fact that BF3 will run at 30 probably even with the update should hopefully make a huge improvement to what we have seen with the beta.

The beta is over now, but i hope in the final retail version there are louder A.I voices.

Things like requesting Ammo and Med-Kits seems unresponsive (glitch?) and even if you did request the other play probably did not hear the request over the explosions and gunfire.

Things like the characters saying "thanks for the ammo", would be a better indication of recieiving it than just the ammo meter filling up. And "here's some ammo" as you drop it, lets team members know it's being dropped.

I can't recall now but was their map or world icons for Ammo ect.. On the battlefield?

I always found it hard to see or find kits dropped, things like this and reduced spotting makes the game seem less team oriented than it should be from my experience.

EDIT: Also the ability to remove dropping med-kits in favour of Grenade Launchers isn't very team-minded, i love GL's so having to choose between them is annoying.

No thoughts on this?...

I think it already is the best looking shooter on the consoles to date. These "packs" will just make it even more awesome! :bunnydanc

On which part?

There may be sound sliders in the final game. I don't mind where things are. It's a war zone, so it does stand to reason that it's hard to hear everything, but it would be nice t tweak those things to our content.

You get points and an on screen description when you successfully give ammo and heal people, so thats always been pretty clear to me, but i agree that hearing people ask is tough sometimes though. Most people don't even know how to ask, so I just throw ammo and health down ever chance I get.

I don't think they've ever indicated health and ammo on the map.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the noob tube in BF too. It's great for blasting windows. I wasnt aware that they changed that for BF3 and made you choose. That's a bummer. I guess it'll be a situational thing now. If you're getting owned by some guys in a building, switch to the tube or break out the rpgs etc. I'll miss rockin the noobtube all game though.

EA has supposedly demanded this video be released to remove the sour taste of the Beta, it worked on me :lol

Yeah, everything is still smaller, but it sure does look perty doesn't it:

Rush and the traditional BF experience are cool, but I'm all about the boots on the ground, so I hope there's some smaller maps where people who like to play the gun game are gonna be able to get their kicks.

They added a traditional TDM and an optional "infantry only" search for guys like you. Theyre trying to have something for everyone. As for small maps. Im not sure, but Metro was pretty small. They may scale the maps for each mode like they did in BC2.

Yeah, maps of that scale are perfect, and that's pretty awesome news to hear about the TDM and infantry stuff. Can't wait to play the final build of this behemoth.

Yea, this is the game I've been most anticipating all year. I love that they're putting so much into it and doing everything they can to make it fun for anyone. I'm glad Batman comes out next week. Makes the wait for BF easier.

Haven't played the beta, but BF has always had most of that info displayed on the mini map, such as when a team mate requests supplies/health their icon on the map changes to the request symbol. Resupply/heal/repair points are on screen too.

Unless they dropped this stuff in the beta or all together. :dunno
