He is not a bad actor. There are others that do terrible acting jobs.

He is just better for some stuff, I guess he gets miscast a lot, Or he takes any job he can get even if it is not right for him.

Wicker Man is a good example.

Sometimes when the movies are so bad, the only thing worth watching was Nic Cage. I can think of a couple of movies where the only reason I even finish them it was because he was in them.
