Public Enemies
Hayden went to school about 10 min from my house. Locals hahaha
It's not true, just more IMDB foolishness. In the original TPM script, Maul had maybe 2-3 more lines.
Lucas is a brilliant film maker, but he doesn't handle actors well at all. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammill seem to say a lot of unflattering things about him as far as their working directly with them.
Even a little thing like Lucas insistance on not having the names in the opening credit shows how little importance he thought they had in the overall film.
But I think we can all agree that his character had a lot of wasted potential and if he was given a decent personality, he could have become the Darth Vader of the prequels.
Aside from the famous "I know" line from Harrison, I don't think Lucas let them create all that much.
The "Faster more intense" I always understood as Lucas not knowing how to direct the actors to really get anything from them. In the interviews I've seen especially from Fisher they are very unenthusiastic regarding Lucas.
I know Benecio but the question is who's Darth Maul?
I know Benicio, but who the hell is Benecio?

Ok you want a few stories, here ya go. These occurred the most in the period between TPM and AOTC before the casting of Hayden Christensen and Christopher Lee. These are absolutely true, people would call with these constantly. These are just a few...
- Anakin was gonna be played by Leonardo DiCaprio or Ryan Philippe. People would then go on and on about the acting merits of each
- Darth Maul was going to return with cybernetic legs, and seek his revenge.
- Darth Maul was the one who was going to be cloned and the Jedi were going to have to fight an army of him.
- Christopher Walkin was going to be the Sith lord on AOTC. Got a TON of calls about this.
- Anakin for certain was going to turn to the dark side in AOTC and kill all the Jedi.
- Episode II was GOING to be titled "The Clone Wars" because it made the most sense to fans.
- JarJar for certain was going to be killed in Episode II.
- Anakin was going to lead an army of Jedi to Tatooine and free all the slaves. Can you imagine that?
Anyways, these are a few. We'd be on rumor duty a lot of the time whenever we'd answer the phone. Sometimes people would call with these absurd, off the wall ideas and we'd be like "What?!" Anyways, fun times.

Good. It would have distracted from the experience.
Oh what could have been
I hope one day, when Lucas has become one with the force, a decent director is given the opportunity to remake the prequels or maybe even have a crack at episodes 7, 8 & 9...
Having the movies remade in what would end up being in a standard hollywood formula would make them horrible.
If the originals were remade, I would have no interest and never bother to watch them. They have already been butchered enough.
He was doing them like old serials, so they shouldn't have had credits at the beginning, it should just jump right into the story. Its not like were not given any credit, for most of the actors the first movies people can think of they have been in are these, so i think they got their recognition.
Exactly!
I personally think its annoying to have to watch 5 minutes of credits nowadays before a movie starts, to see the names of actors, producers, directors and who ever else, most of which a majority of people could care less about.
Having the movies remade in what would end up being in a standard hollywood formula would make them horrible. They would spend half the budget just to get the right actors to attract the right demographics to the film, can you just imagine that Twilight guy playing Anakin (gotta do something to attract more teenage girls), because that's the sort of things that would happen. Then there the soundtrack.
Anyhow, I would just be careful what you ask for, and remember that what you think should be done to make them better is likely not what the people that got to remake them will do to them.
Maybe, maybe not.
What Lucas should do is a full restoration of the OT to their original theater release.
Then remake 4-6 to match his vision and to streamline with the PT better.

Same here. I don't mind a few special effects and some minor technical improvements, but no Hayden as Anakin etc.
Chuck Norris doesn't believe in The Force............
