Wow, I love Maul, I think it's one of the better ones. I don't care for the Han, and I know this is off topic, and everyone's got their opinion but I never heard anything bad about Maul. Whatever I guess, I too can't buy Han though. I want to because it's Han, but I just don't like it. I really hope to get a different Han down the line.

Im keen to get Han, cant wait to make customs using him, hoth garb etc, but maul....oh how that sucks, IMHO my custom was better! And the new owner agrees whole heartedly

Don't pat yourself on the back too hard now. :lol I've seen your custom I believe over at RS. If it is the one I remember seeing it looked like your Maul was on the same stuff Barry Bonds is on. :lol

It's funny, I was just looking at pictures of the 12" Maul today and admiring the costume. They did a nice job, and it is more detailed and layered than it seems at first glance. I am looking forward to that one as well.

I am also excited about getting Qui-Gon and finding out what exactly this thing is, since it's not listed in the item description on the SS site:

Did we decide that it is the Jedi grappling hook? I'm so forgetful...

This Maul is superb, I don't get what some are saying, the body is perfect, the smaller body with corrected arms IS film-accurate, the sculpt is dead on, outfit -- ok, there's a little fabric bunching in some of the proto pics but guess what, you can rearrange the sleeves! Honestly, this is an amazing piece IMHO.:maul

I'm with ya PJ! Maul at SDCC looked great and I told Brant a couple of times during the party how much I was looking forward to getting it.

Tom, I do think we agreed it was some kind of Jedi grappling hook.

A little??, you must be jokin PJ, Maul looks like he has not eaten anything for ages.

I agree that sculpt is great, tunic and dress is high quality and price is OK but, below comparison picture clearly proofs that SS has to make much more improvements than little

Ive been wondering what that is for some time. I noticed it when he first went up for order and still cant figure out what it is. The gappling hook makes sense but shouldnt it have something besides just that.

I think they're tools - like the hydrospanner or something. Would make sense given he comes with the gas mask - try looking in ESB when they are doing repairs in the giant worm.

I know I could pull a little here, tuck a little there and get the sleeves to look film accurate. Look what collectors have done with Anakins sleeves and they were all over the place. Overall this is an amazing piece... awesome, if anything those comp pics convinced me even more...

Those are Qui-Gon Jinns accessories though. I dont know why its in this thread but Ive been wondering about them for a while and I just thought I would sound stupid to ask about it.

Do the Water treatment and this thing is PERFECT.

Maybe I'm not as picky but I think SS "Maul" looks great and am really looking forward to getting him (even though they probably sold over 8000 of the "Exclusive)!

:maul

As for Han, I think he looks pretty good too and can't wait to get my shipping notice!

Mask on or mask off for the display?

No offense to Mat because he's done some really amazing work, but this is probably the worst 12" sculpt of the announced SW figures. Most likely mask on for me.

If anything...... these comparison pics only reminded me of how much the SSC figure looks EXACTLY like Maul from the film. All you need to do is the water treatment and voila.... perfect rendition. At least that's MY feelings on the matter. :D

Exactly what I was thinking...

I agree, but I've said it before, it's not that it's BAD, it's just sub-par. If this were the 1st SW fig we saw from SS, itwould be like "OK, That's good, let's see what else happens" but since we've seen some already, with such high standards, it's kind of a step down. I'm just going to have to wait for a dif. Han, I do hope he'sthe first reoccuring character made, he deserves it.
