I blame Khev.

Hey now, I'm not the only one excited about this announcement. :lol And I certainly don't consider releasing the main hero of the saga in one of his most iconic outfits (from the greatest movie of the OT no less) to be "pulling a Hasbro." Now if they announce a special "Tumbling Down the Steps of the Carbon Freezing Chamber" version in a few months (complete with "uh uh uh uh" sound chip) THEN I'd say SS is pulling a Hasbro. :D

I'm still shocked that he'll be coming soon though. I thought Yavin Luke killed any chances of seeing a Bespin version anytime soon, especially with this being the 30th anniversary of the original movie. So if you want to be upset, be annoyed about Yavin Luke, not this announcement. :)

You're getting two versions of your favorite character in 1/6 scale...now some of us our finally getting our #1 pick.

Okay SS, NOW you can hold off on any more Luke figures for a while. ;)

Since the exclusive accessories for all three SW PF's that are also being made in 1/6 scale (Kenobi's training remote, Leia's trooper blaster, and Maul's probe droid) were/are being included with their respective counterparts I wonder if that means that we'll see the Dagobah Vader head included with 1/6 Bespin Luke.

I hope so!!! That'd beat the panst off the tournequet any day! Definitely one of my favorite scenes in Empire!

Didn't think of that since it says "Bespin," but it is the same outfit so that is indeed a possiblity. I just wonder if Yoda and or Vader will be at Comic-Con to go with Luke?

Excellent news! I'm wondering if we'll get more of a Mace Windu "stump" accessory or something more like Anakin's removable (i.e. constantly falling off) arm....because Bespin Luke needs a severed hand. :emperor

I hope so. Now anything else will dissapoint.

Here's an enlarged, cleaned up (well, as much as is possible from the thumbnail) version of the sculpt alongside the promo pic that was posted earlier.

They'll recycle the Mace stump, they already have the mold and they always recycle their hands, there's no need for an Anakin style arm, Luke's wasn't severed past the elbow.

I don't see anything wrong with releasing another Luke so soon... its not like its a version we don't want. And afterall the bellyaching about the Yavin maybe this will heal old wounds :lol

As long as the continue to release figures I want I really can't see any reason to complain. Sure it'd be more fun to have an Emperor... but I'm sure we'll have him in time :emperor

I think all the n a y sayers are missing the possibility that Bespin Luke is a foreteller of things to come sooner, rather than later. :vader

Yeah, two Lukes and no Vader.... At least the prospect is looking closer. And I know they are working on it, how can you make ANY Star Wars figures without trying to tackle the saga's greatest character outside of Obi-Wan?

2 Obi's, 2 Lukes...... It's about time for a :vader

Why is it that nearly all the human SW figures from SSC have the same facial expression? Are the sculptors told to do them that way because it surely can't be down to lack of ability?
I'm not saying every character should have sculpts with extreme "shouting" type expressions but a bit more character would improve things no end, Dagobah/Bespin Luke should have a look of grim determination or even a touch of fear on his face, but instead Sideshow go for their trademark "glazed over" expression
