Clearly I can't express an opinion or vent on this matter without being labeled as a whiner, crier, being sour grapes, playing their own violin, or whatever else has been lobbied at me.

You can vent but its how your venting that is coming off looking bad IMO. I simply am venting my frustrations towards the opinion that NA are getting screwed.

Is this really what kind of board this has become???

Don't be hating the board because someone vented that thought you where "insert term here".

Did I at ANY point insult Sideshow with derogatory terms? Did I condemn those who got it early??

You said it was poor form on their part and kind of griped at those that got to order early. So yes in a way.

I just expressed an opinion on a policy, and I was passionate about it.

I'm just doing the same. :)

Damn Josh, you are in rare form today! This is the 2nd knock down, bare-knuckle brawl... and its in the same thread for 2 different reasons :rock

Anyhoo.....back to the figure. The Yavin Luke was incredibly disappointing to me personally. Probably my least favorite 1:6 SW thus far OT-wise, otherwise Ilum Padme gets that dubious honor. But man, I'm not feeling this one so far. I know it's hard to judge from digital pics and it can look a little different in person, but color me nervous for now......

Then nothing I said will change your mind about your perception of me. It's unfortunate, but so be it. I personally think you were looking for a fight, but that's just my opinion. So be it.

You're not gonna change my mind. I don't find people going to shows getting to order stuff early bad, wrong, etc. I don't care if it's a show I'm at or not.

Yeah, I came on the board looking to fight with someone.:rotfl

And the fact that you covered the show for Sandtroopers has no bearing here. I wasn't arguing that you didn't do anything for the show. I mentioned my involvement over your comment that I didn't "enjoy" the coverage and "why am I not surprised?" I was busy helping to cover the show in a limited capacity.

It has the same bearing as you covering the show for Yodasnews from home. You did it for free mine cost me. Point being that part of the perks for covering a show is being able to order ahead of those who may help from home.

And again, agree to disagree. I think you got personal with me. Are you going to tell me I'm wrong for seeing things a certain way? What if I were to say that to you?

Just a thought.

No, got nothing against ya. I wish you well in your life and job. I'm just saying I don't agree with you and being as passionate about my POV as you are with yours. :)

I trying to not do so but people are hitting buttons I'm passionate about.

Don't think Dave's gonna make me a mod. :rotfl

How is "bad form" being derogatory? When compared to those who say SSC sucks *insert term here* and go off on a profanity-laden rant???

And if anyone thought I was griping at them personally for getting the figure, I apologize. I disagree with the policy only. If anyone benefitted from that policy, more power to them.

No, probably not :rotfl

Hopefully the pissing contest is now over, so I will repost this for anyone who doesn't want to scroll through the entire battle since its useful info:

Thanks ISewDollyClothes (I swear its not normally this bad :monkey3)
I guess I should clarify my position in Sideshow. As part of the Cut and Sew program, I'm an independent contractor. I don't spend 5 days a week in the office. Usually I'm out there once or twice a week. As a fan and collector, I take a keen interest in the Star Wars lines and Lord of the Rings lines, and so sometimes I ask questions about figures in development. Sometimes I get answers, sometimes I don't. I was lucky enough to get an answer about the Luke jacket, and asked specifically if I could share the information with the board members.

Woulda shoulda coulda...I don't know why things are done a certain way, why the jacket wasn't switched. I thought I was alleviating some of the grief and criticism by letting people know what was going on :dunno.

Now...believe me or don't :D, but here's what I found out today:

- collar looks like it is now a standup collar (it wasn't on a body so I couldn't tell 100%), and it definitely had the correct rows of stitching on it.
- pockets are lower, and look smaller than the first jacket.

thats all. by the way, the mudslinging in here cracks me up! :lol

PS...I asked if I could take a picture and was DENIED! I swear I'm looking out for you guys.

PPS...did I use enough smilies?

pixletwin gets up on his high horse... clears his throat and sings:

ahem:

I want to be kind to everyone coz' that is right you see.
So I say to myself "remember this: Kindness begins with me."

:D :peace

Again, it was only a direct response to you making the inappropriate comment "Why am I not surprised?" about how I enjoyed or not enjoyed the coverage. I didn't get to even watch video coverage because I was busy both working two jobs and using all my free time to contribute to SDCC coverage.

That was my point there.

It may as well be. I tried venting. Some people took it wayyyy out of context. Whatever...

As for the tailoring, I'm curious to see what this new jacket looks like.

I think BLuke allready looks great. I can't wait to see how much more awesome he will look when the jacket gets more refined.

Hooray!!!
:fireworks :fireworks

Peace at last, War is over!!!

Now lets keep DekDave's childhood away and all should be well :lol

I thought the Production Blog pics looked a lot better than the ones from SDCC (mainly due to the paint apps). Hopefully it'll come out looking more like that.
