A lot of people feel that way and it's ok. But the people who hate the "pajama" look, or an extensive use of cloth on PFs as if cloth weren't the point, make it seem as if there isn't a large enough audience for it simply because they don't like it. It's because that segment of collectors, no matter how large or not, is very vocal. That's ok too, but this thread proves not everyone is clammoring for 1/4 fully sculpted. After reading other threads I didn't realize people aside from me (amount unknown) do like the Wolverine PF.
But regardless of any scale & format, a lot of people just want a cool looking statue, however and whatever that turns out to be.
I agree 100%. Collect whatever you like. I even own the Mystique PF because I think it looks incredible. I also ordered the Joker PF for the same reason. Some of the PFs turned out really great. Some sucked. The same can be said for Coms. However, it really sucks when a 1/4 statue I like is ruined by a cloth costume I really don't like. There is NO WAY I pass on Sabretooth if he was fully sculpted. That is a killer piece ruined by the fabric IMHO. It would be OK if I knew I had a fully sculpted 1/4 Com to look forward to. I don't. I'll probably have to pick up the 1/5 Com...and that's only if it looks good.
What sucks is that 1/4 PF collectors needs are covered. SSC will continue this format because the demand is there. If you want fully sculpted, a 1/5 statue is about all you have to look forward to. As a customer, I want to collect 1/4 fully sculpted statues. I can't believe that there are only a few of us that like this format. Every person who quotes "1/5 scale is fail" and passes on those pieces have clearly stated that they would buy them if they were 1/4 pieces. Never once did they say they would pass because it wasn't 1/4 and it didn't have a fabric costume.
Everyone should buy what they like. That is a given. However, I like what seems to be a rare bird....1/4 fully sculpted statues. It sucks that SSC doesn't produce more of these statues because the demand is already there.
